Wow, I'll have to try the peanut butter and onion! I dislike anchovies. :p I don't have any favorite recipes in my vintage cookbooks, but when I want to bake something they are my go to places. Who needs a box mix!
Sometimes, I do. Especially when it comes to baking or classics. I usually use my grandmothers Better Homes and Gardens cookbook, but I have a TON of vintage cookbooks and mini cooking pamphlets.
Now that dinner is over and the dishes are done, kitchen cleaned up, I am surfing the net a bit. Watching a TCM short called "Relaxed Wife" I'll get my work clothes ready for tomorrow and either knit or cross stitch.
Sigh, if I still lived in Illinois I would be there in a nano-second! I would, however, love to see photos and stuff as each event happens!! Though as I look at the map, it's sort of on our way home from Kansas to Indiana......
This is a great thread! I have missed reading. We recently moved and things are quieting down a bit to allow more fun time! I know it's not as common today as when I was young (60's-70's) but I still cannot go out of the house without a slip! I get tired of seeing young ladies, different colored...
Besides catching up on posts here, I am perusing my new to me issue of The Silent Hostess (1931) and Clabber Girl recipe booklet received today. Love ebay and etsy!!
That would be great! I know I could use some tried and true recipes. I have Clara's cookbook somewhere but we are moving and it may be boxed up. Need to find a good one on Amazon.

My dear sheeplady, my mother is a 20 year survivor of breast cancer. I send you nothing but good wishes, healing light, and prayers!
Tonight I will be watching a program on WWI. Thinking about my dear grandfather who was drafted but missed going over as the war ended shortly after. Somewhere...
