    Tin Caps all around!

Also, according to Michael Pollan in the Botany of Desire, these orchards, since they were grown from seeds, did not produce edible apples. Rather, the apples were used to make hard cider and Chapman made a boatload of money selling the orchards .

Does anyone know Jimmy Chen Suits?

Nice suit! BTW, on a 3-button suit you generally button the top 2 buttons or the middle one, not all 3.

    Wearing jacket cuff buttons undone

Actually, I believe jackets originally had sleeve buttons so one could undo them to get the jacket on over ruffled shirt sleeves.

Newbie alert! What do you think of my new Panama?

I believe brisas refers to the weave of a hat from Cuenca.

    Allen Edmonds:How many??

I just picked up a pair of Drydens recently, too. A great shoe and a great price at AE's Ebay store for seconds.

    Cool (But Sold) eBay Stuff

Grey Nailhead I just picked this up on Ebay. Not vintage but it has that look (DB PL). Much handsomer than the photos show and the jacket tapers nicely. Jacket fits me perfectly, pants are at the tailors for a little bit of adjustment. I don't see any signs of wear...

    Show us your suits

I'm a supervisinng lawyer in goverment and help with interviewing applicants for attorney positions and can not believe some of the crap lawyers wear to job interviews. My favorite? Prominent french cuffs with an even more prominent cigarette burn hole. We would be very impressed by an applicant...

    Show us your suits

Interesting. There may be some truth in what you say. Teenage boys describe any tight-fitting clothing as "gay" (although I think I've trained mine not to do so).

    Show us your suits

Doesn't this all derive from Brooks Brothers developing the "sack suit" in the 30s, the first successful mass-produced suit meant to accomodate a range of body types? This then eventually became the American norm, replacing the English drape and Hollywood styles?

    Mens Warehouse

I believe that the quality of Jos A Banks' suits now is not what it was a couple of years ago as they have switched manufacturing plants and I have heard quite a few recent complaints.

    Jacket too small?

If you can move comfortably in it, I'd say it's fine. Generally, if a jacket is too small and you button it, you will get a crease in an X-shape.

Belted back, double breasted, and linen - by Ralph Lauren?!?

Ralph Lauren does some beautiful things with vintage touches. It can be pricy, depending on the line, but I like his stuff.

What is the butt supposed to look like?

Sorry, but you did start it, and otherwise we're just guessing. :p Actually, I don't know how to describe it properly, but I thik the classic shape is kind of filled by the top of your butt and then there is a drape below.

You lost weight and now the pants are too long by 3+ inches? So now you wear Dickies with a suit jacket? I think the troll question has been answered, Doran.

    Mens Warehouse

I, too, am completely befuddled by the lack of tailoring on a suit that has been altered 3 times.

Syms is fine if you're looking to buy a $400-$500 fused suit for $150-$250. Some of the better brands you may find there are Austin Reed, Jones New York, and Nautica. I find it far superior to Mens Wearhouse and the staff is far less pushy. If you are looking for a high quality suit at a bargain...

    wool felt v fur felt

The short answer is that fur is superior to wool and, yes, rain can ruin wool hats.
