After 60, there are no guarantees you will continue in good health. So if the things you WANT to do require mobility and mental health, you should retire BEFORE you think you should.
I miss absolutely NOTHING of my careers in teaching (at all levels) and law enforcement.
There is very...
Today I ordered the CREED GREEN IRISH TWEED from Fragrance.net and a sample of Creeds AVENTUS.
They are having a sale for about another 4 hours. Creed Irish tweed 4oz is $188.00.
I used to carry the Case PEANUT.
THEN I MOVED TO THE case SWAYBACK JACK with India Stag.
My only problem is they tend to fall out of my pocket when I sit down and consequently have lost 3 of the Jacks!!I love that Wharnclife blade.
Today I'm thinking of buying the CREED GREEN IRISH TWEED or the CREED AVENTUS.
Trying to decide which. The Green Irish Tweed seems more popular.
Haven't smelled either so it should be a nice(I hope) surprise.
There seems to be a trend of wearing one's sunglasses on the top of one's head.
REALLY, you (and me) balding guys, do you really think the sunglasses hide your baldness and give the impression that you really have hair?
Oh, and the shaved head tough guy look and the 3 day hairy face (...
Ive bought a couple of EVISU jeans off the bay. High waisted and wide legged. ( with some embellishment mostly!). I like them and get favorable comments.
I also like the regular BRAVESTAR jeans ( nice price also)
And I really really like the RRL regular straight Raw selvedge that I got on...
Jonesey
I think those RRL are SANFORIZED. so you don't have to worry about shrinkage.
The idea is to wear for about 90 days without washing so that the denim will crease and form to your body. Therefore they will form little lines of white that are called "whiskers "in the front thigh area...
Must have sold them!! Sorry!
But I liked the Jack Knife SO well I ordered my 3rd pair. These will be collectors items.
Made by the master himself.
Wearing them today and already had compliments from my beautiful barber!
I think I'm now "JEANS FULFILLED!"
Jonesey,
I wear a 36-37 waist. This is the guy at $68. Check the front pockets out. I like them. You may not. He's got another 3-4 pair left. They are super quality! And the sewing is amazing. I rate them higher than RRL.
I got the higher rise RRL. TRY A BEST OFFER merchant also.
Jonesy, if I can pull it off at 74, you should be able to rock them!
And you are right about the boots. What size are you as I have a couple nice 10.5 hanging round.
Got some FRYE ARTISINAL. GREAT QUALITY. Also REDWING.
JUST ORDERED A Nocona Ranger belt and 2 vintage western band neck...
Sloan, I agree with heavier than 12 oz. seem a tad flimsy to me. My average is 14.5oz
Oh, and I forgot my latest find (a steal!)
JAY KOS Japanese shuttle loomed jeans. Usually run $595
BUT I bought 2 pair recently (NEW) off the bay for $80 a pair after some haggling.
They are excellent...
I just got into some better jeans
and find they DO look good on older gents if they fit right.
Some brands I've bought that I like are:
BRAVESTAR: the heavy 21oz fit me well.
UNBRANDED: surprisingly cheap but look great in black
GUSTIN: well worth the money. Check eBay for ready made...
Down here in the Swamps of South Louisiana, I almost NEVER see rolled up jeans.
As for me at 74, I DO look a little pretentious if I roll them up so I actually buy jeans that have my correct pants length--30".
Or I buy the 32" for when I wear cowboy boots.
I also "adjust" the length as...
Well, At 74, I decided to jump into the jeans mode just for fun!
Today I ordered a Bravestar Steadfast Selvedge and a J Crew jacket.
Last week I picked up a Vintage Rider, Levi , and Wrangleroff the Bay.
Picked up some jeans: Levi 505,513, Hollister, and Wrangler, all new.
Gonna...
