    new vs old Old Spice

I see some cologne and after shave being marketed as classic. Is this classic the same Old Spice fragrance from before the dawn of time? I tried the "new" stuff and it was horrible - not Olds Spice at all. Supposedly the stuff from India is still the origional formula, if so how do I obtain that?

    muddy wet boots help

OK I did it. Hose off the mud as best I can. Let dry. Use sponge to wipe off remaining mud. This did not take too long as they were already quite clean. Let dry. Use Lexol, cleaner first, conditioner second. They look better than they have in a long time. Got to use the Lexol more often.

    muddy wet boots help

I have a pair of Ariat roper style work boots. A couple days ago they got caked in mud. I had no choice but to wash them off with a garden hose, which I just did. When the they dry I plan to brush off the remaining mud, which is not too bad. I have Lexol cleaner and conditioner. My...

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

Being as I from PA, but lived 14 years in VT and NH it is my considered opinion that New Englanders it eat weird s**t. Anchovies? Really? why not just ask for a pound of salt? The proper pizza is NY style (thin crust) with lots of mozzarella, pepperoni and/or sausage, well seasoned, and not an...

    Clarks Desert Boots Lately

I think I need to replace my desert boots which are LL Bean, and have worked well. But it does not look like Bean carries them anymore. So, back to Clarks, which I have not owned since the 70's. Has anybody had a pair lately? Do they still run large? What is your overall impression? I take...

Technical features, you can really do without?

Oh, I love this thread. Thanks Trenchfriend! What are the takeaways? George Orwell was right. 1984 came and went and it is too late now. Most "apps" to use the term broadly are useless, and are designed to sell you something. It may take a while but the "the boys" will find you. Everything is...

    tom collins

What is your best recipe for a tom collins? I ordered one at Xmas dinner and the waitress was astounded and said " I haven't heard that ordered in years". Civilization really is falling isn't it?

    BATTER UP!

My concerns are: The Astro Players have not been dealt with. My impression (and I admit I could wrong) is that most players are not happy about it. If most are unhappy about it, why fear the union? If nothing is done, doesn't that increase the likelihood that retaliation (chin music) will...

    BATTER UP!

Please explain this to me. Every day the media is full of the players expressing their animosity toward the Astros, and it is clear that they are perturbed more than somewhat, and that the punishment does not fit the crime. But the commish says that he cannot punish the ball players because of...

    wood heat/Coal heat

How common was it to heat your house with wood? I suppose that the main furnace used coal (preferably Blue Coal as advertised on The Shadow ), I also suspect that as an "extra", that is to warm up a particular room, wood may have been used, as in a fireplace. Now, being from Pennsylvania as I...
