Have you slept in new leather jackets to break in?

Yes, but I had a solid few beers beforehand. It didn't break the jacket in much.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

That's a great jacket. Swimming is handy for getting jackets to fit less snugly.

    is monkeypants in style lately?

They look like the very last thing you'd be wanting to wear in prison.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I went through a patch of wanting chest pockets removed (I never have inner chest pockets), but I think I just got used to them. I once thought about simplifying a Cafe racer to have no zip pockets and just slash pockets at the sides, but I couldn't do it :)

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I'm the opposite - whether zipped or unzipped, I feel that jackets look more balanced with chest pockets unless they're like the Aero Stockman or Work Coat. If they're centre zipped I definitely prefer a zipped pocket; other buttoned jackets an open pocket. The one 1950s HB I own has no chest...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I'm waiting on an SB Car Coat in black prairie hide - it's gone into production, so should be on its way soon. This is an Aero Veste de Rallye in brown. I also want this, but now I don't need it: Where there is choice, there is misery. It's at least cooling down in Hong Kong :)

    Aero Mulligan

Then a shorter Stockman might be an idea. It's both quite formal and functional. This is a Veste de Rally (similar):

    Aero Mulligan

I think a Mulligan or a Maxwell in mid-weight brown HH would be great. My cordovan Maxwell is a fantastic jacket. A similar style (although different fit and very different back design) is SB's Klondike: I have one in black goat and it would also be a fine thing in a heavier mid-weight hide...

    Are Aero Jackets that good?

Haha, good - I like Global's knives and they've improved my hobby :) I really like Aero jackets; I'm sure a Thedi or Freewheelers is somehow 'better' (SBs have better neck-fittings than Aeros, but I usually prefer Aeros overall and they're at a similar price), but I'd need to buy a Thedi or a...

Jacket Collecting - Ever ask why?

Haha, I think it's a problem, although I don't care at all about really expensive purchases (like cars or watches). I now have 9 Aeros and two SBs (with a third on the way), but they are, at least, all different styles apart from the three Café Racers (different colours). Ideally, I'd just...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I'm split between a Half-Belt style and the four flap-pocket style (MC-127985). I'll order a Thedi when I've thinned out the number of jackets and coats I have out here in HK with me I've been interested by SB's jackets for a while - Aero makes what I think is a more solid product overall, but...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I have a Simmons Bilt Car Coat in production in Black Prairie HH at the moment. I am also considering a Thedi in olive vachetta and an Aero LHB. I sold one a very long time ago, and I thought I might replace it :)

Wise words to live by (jacket related)

-Get a Maxwell -Get a Cafe Racer -Get a Highwayman -Then stop, ffs
  16. zebedee

Does anyone make a short jacket (B2 length or touch longer for example) leather outside sheepskin lined inside like an aero Shawl Collar Barnstormer?

Aero or Simmons Bolt would be your options. I really don't think any leathers other than sheep or goat would work, though. Maybe not even goat. HH or Steer would be too stiff.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Yes, the Klondike is a good pattern - the triangular patches are a minimal extra expense. SB's goat is really nice, and the Blattwerk mahogany I got a SBV2 in is thick and not stiff. The car coat I have coming will be in Prairie Black, which is from the same tannery as Blattwerk.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I have a Car Coat from SB on the way in their Prairie Black. I've been really impressed by the Klondike and SBV2 that I own and am considering a Drifter in Mooreiche.
