We call them cloth awnings - for lack of a better term.

I, was told that these models were used commercially in hotels and such. Not sure of the validity of that, but it does make sense to me. Also, this is the first model with an internal ringer.

It, is from 'TO CATCH A THIEF' (although the buttons have been changed) and one from the location shooting, in my opinion, which accounts for it's early date. The later Hollywood shoot, where they did the rear projection screen work for the ride...
