Yikes! Well, the #8 was not that harsh. I've heard that #12 is smoother still. In fact, one quote I read was "Dangerously smooth and imminently drinkable. Much fuller and rounder than No. 8" but the same person also said #8 was "smooth" and I think that's only by comparing it to turpentine. The...- Joe Foerster

Thanks for the tip. I'll look for those. BTW: Dickel #8 is the only one I've tried, and it has a pleasant orangey taste, but not as smooth going down as the CC12 or XO. After the ice melts a bit it's not bad.- Joe Foerster
