Covid-19, staying at home too much, eating too much, exercising too little - I’ve packed on some pounds, starting to show, not in a good way ... today, wearing the Thedi padded shoulder CR, tighter fit than before, dammit!
No vent openings. Its pretty light weight with only a half lining on the back, makes it a good option for warmer weather when you need a thin jacket to ward off the occasional summer showers without going all out with the wet weather suits. And yes, it does strike a nice Goldilocks balance...
Back here after a bit. Wearing my Vanson Stormer wax cotton jacket. This one has seen some decent use. I have the same one in green as well. They make great riding jacket for warmer, wet weather.
OH NO! Not that!!! Trying to erase image that name brings up in my mind - watched too many old western movies in childhood, that and Apache brings up a medley of fringes and concho rings in my mind LOL
Yeah, that will be me too now. I'll keep on calling them Cafe Racer jackets, I'm perfectly fine with that name, but I know that OCD-voice deep down in my mind will now keep popping up saying, "wait a minute, you mean a Cycle shirt, or a Basic Rider, or ..." LOL
I was thinking along the same lines as I read through this thread. Maybe I'll cut through the clutter, and since this is a minimalistic design compared to the cross-zip/perfecto, I'll just call this the Basic Rider jacket in my mind, like in Harley's catalog from 20 yrs ago - thank you...
Just came across this. Looks very interesting and will be checking back once this civid-crisis ends. That Grizzly looks very neat. I'm particularly interested in the Northeastern and the 50s Racer. And yes, I second what you say about Thailand manufacture. I live a short flight away and have...
... and today ... UGNYC x Vanson Robinson waxed cotton jacket with d3o armor pads inside. This is basically an upgunned, more feature-laden, armored version of Vanson’s super popular Stormer wax cotton jacket.
What a great looking jacket and fits you so well too. Very impressed. I’m waiting for an old Langlitz Columbia I picked up from a fellow lounger - currently stuck on the way here due to covid-lockdown in the country the package was transiting through. Once I have sufficient spare change I’ll...
True. I find my V7 and the various Model A versions to be the same size - 42 for me. Can’t confirm current sizing for the Chopper as mine is based on older sizing format - S, M, L etc
Looks awesome! What size is this? I tried this on at Selfedge NY some years ago, was sooo tempted but didn’t buy it then. Looks like I’ll have to put this back on my to-but list.
The Chopper is 6-odd years old now, size Medium, although it seems they’ve gone to numbered sizing now. The V7 are a size 42. In the AR3 that I returned I was also a 42, while I’m
Pretty sure I’m a size 40 in the Model-B.
These two in the pics? They’re the “V7” only available from UnionGarageNYC, their collaboration with Vanson. I still have both, fantastic moto jackets. Their dimensions are similar to my Chopper, including the sleeve lengths, but the two designs are very different and the wearing-experience is...
Yes, I love the brass hardware on the thick black leather. Yes. It’s comp weight from a few years ago. I like it’s reassuring thickness and heft when riding, although it’s weight, especially on this Chopper, does take some commitment.
