That's disgusting.
I guess I just have to leave FL and stay away from this forum for good. Maybe I'm not "open minded" enough for his place.

A little over a week ago when Hurricane Harvey was hitting my area, my father-in-law and I volunteered to try to help with the boat rescues of flood victims. We had rain gear on but we were soaked from head to toe regardless. It was COLD!
I thought of this thread and as I was wading through hip...
Yup!!
It's the only "real" camping IMO other than improvised shelter camping. Lodges, cabins, and RVs are not camping.

Yesterday, my father-in-law and I got our raft and kayak and went out to assist whatever people in need that we could find. I'll spare you all the details, but here are some pics I took as we floated down the middle of the streets in Katy, TX. Even our local fire station was flooded. NOAA said...
There's a difference between a purse and a satchel. The guys in your pick are carrying handbags like my mother had.
I do have one handbag. It's canvas, OD green, Army surplus. It's called a "tool bag". I carry tools in it. My mother didn't carry a tool bag.

There is some medical legitimacy to what you state. For example, one of the physical characteristics of Fragile X Syndrome (the leading cause of mental retardation) in males is large genitalia.
I think we're digressing into a discussion of the other kind of "man bag" than where the OP was going...
Murse?! NEVER!
Actually, you CAN fit all that in your pockets depending on what kind of pockets you have. My personal style is cargo pants or cargo shorts.
For example:
With a Henley or button down shirt.
For cigar cutter, you could get a Victorinox Swiss Army knife with cigar cutter in it...
Today was a hot one. Temp of 99°. DJ on the radio kept giving warnings about the heat index being 110°. I had to do some dirty work cleaning a pool filter. So I soaked the boonie with the garden hose, wrung it out, and wore it. Honestly, I felt VERY comfortable. Felt like it was in the mid-80's...
Thanks a lot! I took a deeper look at Daan's site. It appears I had been looking at the "wrong" pages for my price range. I do see some very nice affordable berets on there. I appreciate you taking the time for a detailed response.

OK, all banter aside, I'm getting serious about picking up a few berets (different colors). How can I identify a good quality beret from a poor one?
I saw the berets for sale on Daan's site, but most of those seemed in the ballpark of $80 to $100. Add shipping charges from New Zealand to Texas...
There! Fixed it for you. [emoji2]
LOL! I like berets military and civilian alike. I'll say, though, that soldier's beret seems to block his peripheral vision.

Well, the term came into use in the decade of the 1940's. Whether that means the year 1940 as opposed to the year 1946 is not clear to me at this point (since I haven't researched it). So it might be that the term was not yet used in '41. It may have been, but If so it would have been heard only...
Are you saying it was a joke that a person would do to someone else's beret rather than their own beret?
Would that make a hole in the beret or damage it?
Like your Army beret, the berets in the American Army also do not have el rabo. They do not come with lining either.

First time out of the house with my new Borsalino oatmeal linen 8/4. Honestly, I'm more accustomed to wearing duckbill 6 panels. The 8/4 felt very large and puffy. I admit I feeling a little self conscious at first wondering if it looked ridiculously huge. I like it; however, I ordered a 58cm...
Ugh! That's ridiculous. They'd rather take your time with a wad of emails than spend 30 minutes on Google. That stuff and eBay's highway robbery is why I don't try to sell anything on there.

I ONLY buy the on eBay, never sell. I buy on there all the time, but I've never tried to sell on there. I'm not a seller, though. The only things I have to sell is used stuff that I could sell on Craigslist or in a garage sale.
