you say above that your chest is 38" exactly ? ............when you provided us with measurements you say 38.5" relaxed and 39.5" expanded . With your other measurements you would struggle to zip up a 38"

Sorry neither option would be a possibility. Handwarmers are simply a no for us, they were only added in the 80's and totally spoiled the look.
Shearling isn't an option due to the way it's constructed. Our Troy Mills blanket is a great option.
I would suggest getting the whole jacket uniformly wet and then allow it to dry properly to balance out the current water marks before applying the pecards. If you apply the pecards now you risk preserving the current water marks.
Also when applying the pecards go easy on it, a light coating...

Weight has nothing to do with it, it is the very soft handle and drape that make it in our opinion not as suited to a Motorcyle jacket / cross zip style that works best in a leather that has a little more structure to it, rather than just draping .
This is why it isn't available as a "drop down"...
