Hey all, I have a Wested Indy jacket I purchased somewhere around 2004 or so, maybe even before. I only wore it once or twice as it never fit real well and I purchased a different leather jacket I then wore for the next 5-6 years. It is the goat skin and a very dark brown, with cotton drill...
Thanks all for the responses, the idea of layering was part of the idea of why I didnt want it too tight, but I can fit a sweater and more underneath, and while that would be great, it is never really needed in my life. I just spent a week back in CT and I wore jeans, and a River Driver shirt...
So, I posted back in July when I received my jacket from Insurrection and was never quite sure on the overall fit. Well, 5-6 months later I find that I am still questioning the fit and was looking for some opinions. When I wear it I still feel like my chest is just swimming in it, maybe I...
I dont know a lot, but to me that jacket looks amazing, great fit, great patina, great pattern. I only wish I could find a nice jacket like that. Great find.
Just cancelled my order for the 1960s and ordered the Okayama instead, was a little unsure of the unsinged hairy effect 1960s. Also, here is my invite https://www.weargustin.com/invite_from/11807
I think that I may be the only one in my area that got out of work today and was psyched that it was 60 degrees out and raining and had to come up with a reason to leave my place so I could wear my Aero. Since I got it in July I have been wearing it almost nightly in my apartment, worn it on...
I have a pair of the 1000mile addisons, they are great boots and you can have a rubber half sole added for about $20. They wont be as deep a tread as those red wings, for that you would have to have the cobbler actually resole the boot with the rubber sewn on as plumbline said. They can do it...
I do still have the jacket, I am unable to send you a private message but if you want to, you can email me at TWE86@aol.com. Thanks for the interest. - Tim
Sorry to have responded but not added an opinion. To me the Highwayman or one of the motorcycle jackets would look great in black. For whatever reason and as wrong as I may be about it, I always think of casual wear jackets in brown, and motorcycle jackets more traditionally black. Not saying...
The problem for me is that my wife loves to shoot guns and ride motorcycles(not at the same time), but she doesn't understand the desire for nice leather jackets. Although I can't totally fault her, she was nice enough to buy me my first Aero.
So, after wearing the jacket every night in the AC, on a few long drives, and on one 150 mile motorcycle trip the sleeves are definitely the perfect length, but I am still concerned about the body of the jacket. I can tighten the side straps all the way and still fit comfortably in the jacket...
Also, everyone says that you need to work on the collar of the jacket, I agree that the standard collar is difficult on the neck in most positions. My question is how should I mold it, I know the HWT but if anyone could post some pics as to the shape that they find useful and good looking I...
Thanks everyone, and Ralfh I will probably just take your advice, maybe a little play in the rain. Cordovan is the other color I was thinking of and some day maybe I will be able to purchase one. And thanks Fanch for the motivational comments, luckily I just started a new school and my job is...
I wore it a bit this weekend driving 260 miles with a/c and then around my place at night, it is becoming more flexible especially when warm with body heat. The jacket is fantastic and I am very happy with it, I would like to get the body a little more snug so I will try the HWT, was also...
Thanks all for the comments, I wanted room for layering as I got the lightest liner I could so as to increase the time I can wear it as I am stationed in this hot and muggy area. I just wanted to make sure it was too large. The side straps are not tightened, but I feels like it makes a weird...
