Thanks for that. I don't believe I use the point to remove the hat. I don't think I ever touch it. I will try the cloth tape. Besides the hole, the hat is in amazing shape. The felt has faded in color a bit, but I still love it so I'm going to try and wear it forever.

Hi.
I've had the hat for about 15 years and wear it almost exclusively in the rain.
There's a small hole on the top front of the hat where the front point forms. I noticed it about a year ago when it was tiny. I don't put any stress on it so I don't know what started it and why it's...
Lost Worlds Inc. does repair work. I had wool cuffs and wasteband replaced on an old jacket and they did a great job. Wasn't cheap. Not at all.
They make a version of the G-8 which they call the Raider and it has a burgundy rayon lining, which has to be an amazing lining. If you want...
French Army?
A cheese eating surrender jacket?
I'm kidding. It's actually pretty nice. I need an overcoat. Never thought of army surplus before. That's a great idea.
Lost Wolds A-1
Just bought a 1994 prototype civil A-1 and can't say enough good things about it. It's close enough to the production model for me to recommend it. The Leather is amazing.]
Obviously what I bought isn't a true A-1, but it's close enough I think for me to let you know that a...
I certainly do enjoy them. That's for sure. I'm a bit overwhelmed by them. I don't know when to wear them all. I think I'm done buying jackets. I'm 42 years old now. Time to age them now by wearing them. Enough is enough I think. And yet...
Photos of my Jackets

Hello Peter.
It's made of 3 oz russet front quarter horsehide that I believe Lost Worlds makes their A-1 and A-2 out of. It's tough, I can tell that it can use a lot of breaking in. He shipped it to me all buttoned up and it took me about ten minutes and some finger tip pain to unbotton those...
I believe cowhide is just as tough as horsehide. I know cows probably can take a three strand barbed wire fence better then any horse I've known. With the way leather can be manipulated, I don't see how suppleness can come into play. I have one horsehide that's as soft as can be and another...
Photo of the LW civil A-1
Ah, I just figured out how to post a photo here. Here's the civil A-1 from Lost Worlds. It's the only picture I have right now. Apparently made in 1994 as a proto-type that was never produced. So hard to find clearance items in 46R, I snap them up if they look good.
Hello all.
Nice to be able to contribute to this forum.
Thought I'd catalog my current collection of leather jackets
1. 1984 LL Bean "Bomber" jacket. I wore this thing hard and it's barely got a dent on it. Had Lost Worlds redo the wool knit parts about four years ago. They did an...
