You should solve that shiny issue with the pockets and put the 459th FS patches on it - at least the 5" Squadron and a name tag. It's a respectable jacket now.
Depending on what the lining is made from you can soak the jacket in hot water (washing machine - no agitation or spin, just fill it up), then put it in the dryer, zipped, with towels. Check on a regular basis.
