I have one, and always thot it to be a "Skimmer". Bot it at a costumers store, used to wear it when driving my '35 Terraplane. (Was born that year too) Also at times in a play or musical.

I got one about 50 years ago and it is still working great for me. Gives a smooth shave, I use any shave cream, even soap -- especially Neutragena works well. Glad to know more about the history of the product from all your notes. :)
