My grandpa has worn a baseball cap his whole life. Even in photos from the 30's and 40's he's in a ball cap. never a fedora. He also wears driving caps or fishing hats.
I guess I missed something. Why is the whole subject of "that show" touchy?
Mash is my favorite show, still watch it almost every day. I would have that in my back yard in a second if it was large enough, and if I had a back yard. The only thing missing is the Officer's Club, or Rosy's Bar...
That's a tough call. The 30's, 60's and 80's are all in close running but I had to go with the 80's in the poll. It had Indiana Jones, Empire Strikes Back, Ghostbusters, Die Hard (my favorite Christmas movie) and John Hughes films to name a few. Having grown up during that decade, those are the...
I wear a hat every day I don't work. A fedora or wool driving cap in the winter and a straw hat or light weight driving cap in the summer. I don't wear a hat to work so I don't have to worry about hat head, though if I go out in the evening I'll put a hat on.

So, by the looks of that ad "Hat Day" was just created as a ploy to get people to buy a new Derby or felt hat on Sept.18th.[huh]
As for me, it's going to be around 105/106F today. I don't breakout the felt hats until November.

I can't wait for this film. Cap is my favorite character, both original and ultimate. I was a bit skeptical when it was first announced, but after seeing the costume pics (even though they're of the stunt double) my worries have been put to bed.

I just saw another favorite from my youth is also on the DVD now: Voyagers!
Doesn't quit hold up to the way I remember it but still fun. And it was all about getting kids interested in history. At the end of each show they even said, "Learn more about (whatever it was that week) at your local...
I picked it up last weekend. Been watching an episode a night. Man! What a great show, now that I get all the references it's even better than I remembered it.

Hey all,
I didn't see this posted anywhere (if it is sorry), but I just found out a couple of days ago that TotGM is now on DVD.
There's both a US and international release. I picked it up at Best Buy, but here's a link to the main site for info...
Right now I have "The Nighthawks" as my wallpaper. I came on the laptop as one of the basic choices, which is funny because when I was getting it I had already decided to make that my first background.
Check out Will Eisner's, "A Contract with God Trilogy"

and for that matter, anything by Will Eisner. He also created the Spirit.
I didn’t care for it. Had it been either filmed well or historically accurate I could have accepted it, but as it was neither…
I just finished the book yesterday, and highly recommend it. Very well written and researched.

They are two totally different things. In Japan Kobe beef comes from cows that are fed a special diet and given a massage every day in order to marbleize the meet just right. I believe it's also served in small thin portions.
The Kobe beef in America comes from the same line of cows in Japan...
In the “Captain Midnight” serial three or four thugs parachute in, then pull their hats out of their suites and take time to re-bash and put them on before going after the hero. I guess you have to look your best when getting beat-up by Captain Midnight.
