Getting Cigarrete smell out of leather jacket
I bought an Akubra hat off ebay and it arrived stinking of state cigarette smoke, I tried leaving it in a box wrapped in newspaper, not a great success, I tried it in a plastic bag with baking soda, again not a great success, eventualy I gave up and just wore the hat and in time the smell just...- DonW

Hi Guy's, I won an Akubra Banjo Paterson off ebay last week which I'm wearing today, really nice hat, rebashed it a bit and am going to change the leather hat band for a 1 inch ribbon in chocolate brown, the hat is Heritige Fawn. Now I need your advice, the hat is clean but smells very heavily... -

Vintage Workwear
I saw wool safety coats like yours in use just a few years ago in a steel manufacturing plant in England, if you are splashed with molten steel the splash doesn't stick to the wool, it just burns the surface and "balls" and runs off, beats modern safety fabrics!- DonW

To patch-pocket or not to patch-pocket?
I always prefer the patch pocket, when you put too much in your pocket, like I do!, the pocket bulges but not the coat, with the Cheyenne style pocket the bulge is internal and it makes the whole jacket bulge in that area. Also with the patch pocket both the inner and outer faces are leather so...- DonW
