Do we have a Stratoliner Society?
Do Douglas and I need to start...
I recently picked up a Stetson Stratoliner and a Resistol.
I really like the Resistol. Its really soft but holds it shape.
I am the only one home so I will have to post "mug" shots later.
The Strat:
The Resistol:
Picked up a Stetson 15 in a taupe/tan color OFAS. Didnt notice the ribbon treatment till it came.
I am assuming a previous owner replaced the ribbon or added the button. Also has a wind cord. Its needs a good steaming and some bash work. Also a slight stretch.

Soot sponge
I bought a "soot sponge" also called a dry cleaning sponge on the label at a paint store. They use it to clean the walls with soot damage before painting.
I am pretty sure its the same thing and it works for me. It is natural rubber about 6"x3"x2". I cut mine in half.
Thanks Again
For all the positive comments. I am especially surprised aabout the folks saying i look better in the wider brim.

I have been buying some different things to get a feel for what i like and dont like.
Some i have just started working on as far as cleaning and deciding on a bash so consider them works in progress.
Please feel free to...

Thanks for the link and the response.
I have a hat stretcher coming this week fro ebay.
I havent found the brushes yet, I need to look harder.
When you steam do you use distilled water?
I need to buy and old basher for work.
I work in a lab in a production facility and I hate the thought of a vintage fedora smelling like my clothes do at the end of the day.
I think it is just cultural perception...
Country music is such a big thing today. I think it is a major fashion decider. And remember not so many years ago it was called country-western music. I think what was considered "western" fashion just kinf of took over.
I think fedora have that...
