Here are a few of my favourites...
Le Nuvole sandblasted straight horn
Peter Heeschen with bamboo shank
Ser Jacopo Picta Van Gogh
Manduela sandblasted lovat/brandy
And my favourite pipe accessory at the moment - this tamper from Dmitri Plechtchev (ZapZap Tampers)
Akubra's sand colour is not the same as their silverbelly. Not a huge difference but the sand is paler. Here's my silverbelly Campdraft Deluxe for comparison (in the same light)...
Amazing that everybody said grey. I vote brown. I find that a fawn / mid-light brown is the most versatile colour for me and I rarely wear my grey hats. I guess in the end it's whatever suits your skin and hair colouring best, and what will go with most of the clothes you wear. I think brown...
From my side by side comparison I'd say if you're looking for light weight and crispness, the imperial felt is the way to go. That's a pretty good description of how my imperial feels next to the heritage.
Sam,
I just grabbed my heritage and imperial CDs and, for mine at least, the heritage felt feels a bit thicker (or maybe more plush and dense, or a bit of both). I even weighed 'em in case it helps you - the heritage weighs 167 grammes and the imperial weighs 143 grammes. Side by side the...
I don't disagree with frussel - the regular imperial quality CD is great and I'm very happy with my two imperial CDs. The difference is marginal. But I do notice the difference in the sweatband and, increasingly over time, it is more comfortable. I almost don't feel the hat when it's on. But the...
My Silverbelly CD Deluxe is my favourite hat. It's very versatile and the colour just seems to suit the hat (if that makes any sense). It is also the most comfortable hat I own - somehow more comfortable than other heritage felt Akubras I have. Perhaps it's the lighter weight of this hat coupled...
I've tried on a Traveller and I didn't like the feel of the felt as much as a regular Akubra. It's nicely soft but quite a bit thicker and doesn't have the same quality feel to me. But if you're worried about the cold maybe a Traveller would be a bit warmer to wear. Still, I'm not a fan of it...

Thanks for the compliment. You're very kind. I bashed them all dry and then used steam locally to set the creases or for any fine adjustments I wanted to make. I had to use steam too for the fine details like the creases on top of the crown for the grey and silverbelly. By the way, to do...
I finally got around to posting some pics of my Campdrafts on the Campdraft thread (link below), and here are my other Akubras - a Plainsman and a Lightning Ridge...

It's about time I posted something...
I've been lurking here for a while and I thought it was about time I posted some pics of my Campdrafts. By the way, thanks very much to RBH, Colby Jack, and all who introduced me to the Campdraft. It's a very versatile and comfortable hat and there's...
