Hi all, I'm mostly a lurker here and thought someone here may like this jacket before it goes up on ebay.
This is a much loved Vanson Model B custom job without the side buckles or a zip in liner. It's the competition weight leather in dark brown (which I've hardly ever seen), brass hardware...
I've seen the other marbled octagon in person and was not a fan . This color is much more subtle - looks great. Is the m19 some sort of naked finish as well?
The dark brown is great - very dark chocolate brown- theman custom ordered me a model B in this color from Vanson - quite a durable finish. The finish on the captain A jacket looks more translucent like it shows more of the leather texture - what is the color called?
love to see more pics of...
I assume that that 'turnings' have something to do with how the leather is folded at the seams - just the word that Amanda used to describe how they can get between sizes.

shoulder only bi-swing back
fqhh dark brown
brown cotton drill lining
Antique brass hardware
2 chest pockets , no...

If you've got only a half inch of slack with a 30'' waist , I think that I haven't got a chance to fit a size 38. Sounds like a 40 for me and perhaps ask for 'tighter turnings' as some folks have mentioned they've done to get closer to a 39
tthanks for the input Jon - very helpful. If you have any pics, please post! pics of the plain back aero CR are hard to come by..One question, how tight is your CR on the hips? I have a 33'' waist and and given advice from GriffdelaGriff, the waist measurement may be the deciding factor for...
I've seen eClairvaux's jacket that coloradorider links to above - that is pretty much the fit that I'm after. I've also seen that the aero CR has is a bit large in the back and wondering whether that provides enough room to reach forward without the bi-swing back.
I'm now fascinated with the...
