    Booo, grumpy old fedora fuddy-duddies!! I'd love to see this refreshed and make Hammett accessible to another generation. I have seen all of them. Looking forward to it. [also, depp does more for the hat trade than any star out there currently, IMHO]

    Gut reaction is that the photo of the young man on the left is much better quality than either of the two photos shwoing him as an older man. I don't think an 1850s photo would look that good. Also, hair and shirt look later. There is a family resemblance, though.

    Wore my USMC desert CBs all over Europe. Only shoe I wore in the day, but not very pretty.... Love the buckle boots, but thinking about the Red Wings. I need a good old WWII'ish low boot. That brown has just enough red in it.

The documentation center in Obersalzburg, the museums in Berlin, camps such as Mathaussen, the Wewelsburg Castle exhibits, even the basement of Hotel zum Turken document this era.     At my Grandma's house, we have unearthed a Telescope cot, camping fridge, stove, chairs, a wonderful glass thermos that needs a cork, etc. Evidently, great gramps was quite the camper. Lots of road trips.

    Here's a thought. Kids do goofy things to challenge the norm. What if "hipsters" are the white urban response to hip-hop? A celebration of a different era. The 70s are just more accessible to them than the 30s.

    Haven't been around here in a long time. Looking for someone to reblock, stretch my very nice panama straw fedora. The heat this summer messed it up. I had it hanging on the hall tree, and it looks all wonky now. I live in the Philly/Bucks County area, but I would ship for quality work...
