Yep, I brought them to the cobbler to have the heels nailed again. She also put rubber half soles (and heels) underneath. I still have to buy a polish that's the same colour though, they should look perfect then :-)
But grease should do until then :-)
I bought these from a friend, they're at least 100 years old according to her calculations and she only asked for 30 euros! I'm still feeling like I got my xmas present half a year in advance <3
(they're a narrow size 38 1/2, and made in extremely soft leather, so unbelievably comfortable to wear!)
As promised, a better picture of the whole edwardian outfit :-)
The dress and jacket are original edwardian, and the shoes are the wedding shoes of the grandmather of some american lady who sold them to the friend I got them from (yeyyy ^_^). The purse doesn't really show much in the picture...
thank you very much ^_^
a better picture of the edwardian outfit will be coming up in the near future, we are having a photoshoot for a project today and I'll be able to wear a couple of real edwardian ivory-coloured boots with it, they're so beautiful and fit so well that I can barely wait to...
The do at least sell some products that are designed for the split ends, I've had one by swartzkopf that is applied on the ends after washing the hair. It's supposed to protect and repair, I think it may be worth trying. :-)
I agree with C-dot, if your hair is damanged you should probably try to avoid both the heat styling and the blowdrier (especially if you use heat to blowdry). It dries the hair up and makes it weak and crispy, which will make it break much easier.
I would recommend some hair mask especifically...
that made my day XDDD
but yep, it's one of the Uruk-hai in the museum of WETA (the company which made the props and especial effects for the Lord of the Rings) :-)
I also have to admit that I've rarely been wearing those gothic etc outfits since I discovered vintage, whenever I don't feel like doing much of an effort in dressing up / doing my hair & make-up I just use the "normal me" look :-)
