I've had a heck of a time trying to get my trousers from Luxire to drape. I've tried about 8 pairs of trousers and the last pair was the best so far. Whether or not it's the correct way a tailor would fix the problem but I ended up shortening the inseam and adding to both the front and back...
Hello everyone,
I bought a pair of vintage trousers off of Ebay to see how I would like a flat front. I've decided pleats are the only way for me so rather than go through the hassle of selling them I figured I'd see if there was anyone on the forum who might like them. If you're a veteran...
I had Ratio Clothing make me an OCBD with french cuffs. I think it works just fine with trousers and a sport coat, especially in more casual color like brown. Also, with real simple cufflinks, no jewels etc.
It may be breaking the rules but I like it.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has any decent photos of 1940's style trousers? High waist, wide leg, nice drape front and back. I've searched through tons of photos on Google, and very surprisingly couldn't find anything useful. People are usually walking, sitting, or have their hands in...
I too have been considering these two boots. And I've decided on the Alden because of the lace hooks for ease rather than holes all the way up and I think the Alden looks better with a reverse welt which the Dalton does not have.
Pleats are always going to be of different opinions. The front drape looks great to me, however in the back there appears to be excess fabric maybe in the seat not allowing them to drape very well there?
Hello everyone.
I've been ordering a number of vintage style pants from Luxire which have been simply amazing. I can't recommend them enough, high waist, wide legs, drop loops, two inch cuffs, whatever you want, they're great.
Anyways, since Fall/Winter is coming I've been thinking about...
If you can't get them to look as white as you'd like you can try Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint. I used it on a pair of old Florsheims, took some time to work around the edges with a small paint brush but they look brand new again. Not sure how good it is for the leather in the long run.
I use Fel's Naptha on all my shirts, but I don't just rub it on like directions say. In my experience that stains them the color of the soap, mainly white shirts. I grate the Fel's and combine it with some other soaps like blue dawn and it works great.
They look just like the buttons my local tailor sews into my trousers. I've also sewn just regular buttons into trousers for braces and I haven't really noticed a difference.
I hear alot of "I love your hat" whilst in line at a store. Then of course alot of the, "you going to a wedding/funeral?" I like the "from another time period" comment.
Good heavens, you must be close to 8' tall. I thought it was hard finding vintage stuff just being over 6'
I agree though, don't seperate them, either try to make them work or sell them together.
