Hey - that's my pic! I'm obviously a bit biased, but that tartan pattern partnered with the brown FQHH is just gorgeous. Even more so in real life! Enjoy your new jacket.
It's definitely a 30's. The sure fire way to tell is that in the photo of the jacket in your auction, the leather in the back is slightly folded over just above the belt. This is the slimmer fit of the 30's HB. Compare images from the Aero site:

In my experience, (which was confirmed by Amanda at Aero) is that the Cafe Racers fit a little more sung than the 30's Half Belt. So where I was really too snug in a 40" CR, the 40" HB fits much better - even though it's a "slim cut".
Of course your mileage may vary, so take this with a...
Thanks, guys. If I had it all to do over again I'd probably add just a tad more length on the sleeves & length, but I'm happy with how it fits currently. With my arms outstretched in motorcycle riding position the sleeves of course come up a tad but not bad at all.
Only thing that concerns...
After almost five months to the date, my custom 1930s Half Belt from Aero arrived. The order summary was 40" in brown FQHH with 1" added to sleeves & length. Leather lining at bottom with brass hardware. One inside left pocket with stud closure. Loch carron tartan lining, and only 1" in...
That's so funny - I came to the forums tonight to ask the same question. I have a somewhat new Aero FQHH jacket that I'll be taking out tomorrow for a 2 hour ride where showers are expected.
HoosierDaddy - In your experience, Will my jacket suffer any long lasting damage if it gets soaked in...
I don't have a tape measure handy at the moment, but I'd say that for my measurements a 41" jacket may be a slightly better fit.
However, while the back may look a little baggy I'm not sure it would be more useable if it were any tighter. I was shooting some photographs with an SLR this past...
Well for starters I just wore it a bunch. I also tossed it in the dryer (no heat!) for a half hour with a couple of sneakers which worked wonders. It's broken in even more since I took these pictures - I've spend a lot of time riding my bike in it, driving in it, and even wearing it during...
I used to be a petit filet man but after a while I just craved a but more character. These days I'm all about bone-in rib eye, medium rare.
Am I alone in thinking that steaks taste better after a martini (or two)?
It might be good, but it's definitely too soon for a reboot.
Sam Raimi has such a kinetic, distinctive style that I"m curious to see what another less campy director can bring to the franchise.
There's no doubt that is was a well made, entertaining movie, but have no doubt - this thing was engineered to win oscars. The only thing oscar voters love more than british period pieces are tales of people with physical/mental handicaps that they triumphantly overcome in the third act. If this...
I do ride, but I'm a pretty fair weather rider in a wet location, so this jacket will probably see more street than bike use.
You know I did ride a bit with the old Schott. It wasn't terribly comfortable, but it was doable.
Thanks for all of the responses so far. Before doing anything drastic I think I'll just continue to wear it and break it in. In 2-3 month's time if the fit still feels off I'll consider either the shower trick (egads!) or getting it altered.
So Aero will then alter the jacket if requested? Has...
