FWIW, I have a pair of Abaete (for Payless) peeptoe pumps that fit very well. They don't really pinch, rather, they just get more snug towards the toes. I can wear them pretty much the whole day without too much pain, and my toes don't slip forward.
I tried to find a pic of them online, but...
I doubt this post applies to me, either - I was hardly here long enough before to make a sustained impression. Which could be a good thing, depending! :p
Myself, I've been undergoing a metamorphosis of my own. Since I last posted, I lost my job, was laid off from another one after 2 weeks...
Oh, MY!!
WOW!!! you all have some wonderful ideas!! I completely forgot about the Ball (canning) jars I have stashed away on top of my fridge! They can hold mixes, bath salts, all kinds of things!!
I can't tell you all how thankful I am for your suggestions. This is a great group of people...
Hi, all -
This year's holiday season will be quite thin financially for us, so I'm thinking I may turn to making things for people for gifts. I thought I may ask some of you girls here what you have done/would do in a similar situation...knowing times were tough during the war(s), women...
To GOK
Fascinating thread!
GOK, I've been attempting to PM you, but apparently I'm not allowed...could you please try to PM me? I have questions for a professional! :)
Kitty
Hi, y'all -
My hair will not hold a curl to save its life. Actually, no - today, by virtually shellac-ing my (Bettie) bangs, I got them to stay in a near-perfect scoop curl, which actually looked very presentable! But after mousse on the roots, turbo-hold gel on the strands, hot rollers and...
Ah, Katie, you beat me to it:
I (heart) this stuff. It is a bit messy, yes, but it just SOAKS into the skin, and the gloss factor - if you're into that sort of thing - is pretty high. I've even used it to take off my eye make up in a pinch...:o
I wholeheartedly agree. He has a couple other books out there - similar to the first - that I'm aware of...I think Face Forward...oh, and The Art of Makeup. Good stuff, and ever so much fun! :)
Hi -
I found makeup artist Kevin Aucoin's book Making Faces on a clearance rack about 5 years ago, and I've been playing with makeup ever since. Liquid eyeliner and I used to butt heads, but now I use it every day. I am most comfortable with pencils, but I wanted to give liquid lining a try...
Zappo's (www.zappos.com) has a pretty dceent selection, and a wide variety of vintage styles. :)
I normally don't wear flats (they make my feet look rather boatish), but I like these:
These are admittedly the same kind of variation on a basic ballet flat, but they're cute nonetheless! :)
Newbie from Chicago!
Hi, all -
I have finally started posting, after lurking for many months. A few things about me:
- I'm originally from Iowa, but I moved to Chicago 2 1/2 years ago.
- I'm 27, married to a former Marine, I have 2 cats and my baby, my Great Dane (he's 17 months), and also...
On an average day, I:
- shower, washing face with either Dove or Neutrogena, depending on the time of the year and a buff-puff
- spray hair with root-booster, blow-dry until semi, dry, finish fringe standing up, using a comb
- put hair up with a hair stick (unless I'm going out, in which...
Rain Bonnets?
Hi, girls -
I'm new here, although I've been lurking for quite awhile. ;)
Having gotten completely drenched yesterday in heavy thunderstorms (it's flurrying right now, go figure), I made up my mind that I would at least carry a rain bonnet for my hair so at least I don't so...
