Thanks for the comments guys, it is a bit of an unusual suit. Totally agree with you HBK I think the back does look rather plain without pleats. I have a plain dark blue suit like the jacket you posted hbk with 2 box pleats and a back belt.
Sean yes we must organise something.
Very pleased with my latest purchase, although its one for the collection as its a bit on the small side. When the dealer sent me photos it looked dark brown. To my surprise when I got to see it in the flesh its a pale brown/fawn colour. This suit is...
As I big MB fan, I have a few examples of there suits from various eras. In 1936 when the company changed from the "tailor of taste ltd" to just "the tailor of taste" i believe that they were ever told to stop using the old labels. I have suits that are 1940s with the utility mark still baring...
This is a suit I bought for my partner. Really lovely colour, deep chocolate brown with a red and blue/green stripe. Made by J.B Johnstone ltd on the 13.6.1945 does anyone know anything about the company? The trousers on this are great with a fab high back detail.

Rabbit - haha I am a 36 chest and the suit fits well, unfortunately im a bit of a hoarder when it comes to suits. So no plans to sell it yet but never say never.
hbk- The width of the trousers measure 10inches across.
Thanks for the comments guys. Totally agree is a beautiful suit, but its not one i put my hand on when i go to my wardrobe. I suppose i always feel dark suits are very somber which is probably why i don't wear it much. I tend to wear a lot of browns, blues and grey. Not sure why but the picture...
This is a beautiful british suit I've had for a while doesn't come out much. But today while haveing a shake down and demoth spray day. I found a little book of matches in the little inside pocket. I always assumed this suit was early 30s but now actually looking at it closely it could be...
Haha hbk to be honest I never seen it, shipping cost are always a bit much from the states for me. If It had had matching plus fours now that would of been interesting. Love the strong red/rust windowpane in the weave.
Hi folks I've recently purchased this bush jacket/safari jacket. I believe it's from the 1930s and British made but it doesn't have any labels. Any thoughts anyone??

Luckily I have fairly small size 7 feet, I managed to pick this pair up in good condition, they did have a small split in the back which I had repaired. The cloth of the suit is summer weight almost a flannel, I just love the colour.
