In two weeks, I'll be 24. It's funny how as a child/teen you can't wait to turn 18 or 21. Those two birthdays never come fast enough. After you hit 21 though, the months and years just fly by.
Jack Benny, he's always been one of my favorites. He also had a great ensemble with Mary Livingstone, Eddie "Rochester" Anderson, Phil Harris, Don Wilson and Dennis Day.
Check out The Third Man with Orson Welles and Joseph Cotten.
Some other suggestions:
The Naked City
The Asphalt Jungle
Gilda
The Lady From Shanghai
He Walked By Night (which I believe was the basis for Dragnet)
I appreciate kind and courteous service. So when someone does a great job, I tip accordingly. But one thing I cannot stand is a person who is pushy about tips. Last night I went out to my local restaurant and the hostess/coat check girl took my jacket. When I went to pick it up later, she handed...
You're very correct on that. Dial M for Murder was originally written for the stage. From what I've read when it premiered, people considered it too "talky" for a Hitchcock picture. Whatever that means.
Now that you have your feet wet with Hitch's films, may I suggest you watch Shadow of a...
I have always enjoyed Greta's films. It's a pity she didn't make anymore after 1941.
I did see the documentary, it was quite good. I would recommend it for anyone who is a fan of hers.
Oh I definitely agree about the new Mustangs. I'm waiting in anticipation for my chance to buy one. It's too bad though, the Mustangs have been selling out fast around here.
I saw the special when it first aired around the first of the month. Those were my thoughts exactly....it was rather boring. I expected much more from the documentary. It was quite a downer compared to the excellent docs about Flynn and Thalberg that were previously aired on TCM.
I've been a fan of Owen since I saw him in Bottle Rocket as Dignan.
Though I like him as an actor, I wish he would write some new scripts. But in an interview, Owen said he just does not have much time for that anymore. It's a shame, I always thought Wes Anderson and him put out a couple...
I was saddened to learn she had passed away. What a wonderful actress. Teresa was great in "Shadow of a Doubt" . That movie will always remain my favorite film of all time. Rest in peace.
I am a huge fan of Live 365 (I even started to broadcast my own station). I enjoy listening to all the old time radio shows and music from the golden era. The great part is it's available anytime I want.
That is actually Rita Hayworth. I love this pic because there are few photos of her as a blonde.
Getting to the other question, I don't know exactly how to style the hair like that but you could check out http://www.nocturne.com/swing/hair/hair.html. That site has step by step on how to give...
I must agree with your comments about Steve McQueen being a great actor. He's definitely one of my favorites.
I can't explain why no one today remembers McQueen. I'm 22 and was in a conversation about movies recently. I brought up the name "Steve McQueen" and my friends had no idea who I was...
