Thank you for digging that thread up! That was what I was remembering. Wow it's been awhile. And it appears he's not been here in awhile either. Hope all is well with him.
Many of us fade in and out of various forums over the years. I was shocked at how long it'd been since my last post here...
Thanks! I used to see them there, bought one or two. Just bought another before I wrote this thread, but thought I remembered a reproduction from a Member here.
Years (and years!) ago I seem to recall someone here selling reproduction of the Stetson Stratoliner pin. Wondering if anyone here knows of a source these days? I'd even be interested in the El cheapo pins sent with the current hats (am missing one from one of my Florentine Milan Stratoliners)...
Well this is ironic timing. It appears one year ago today was the final 2 episodes of The Blacklist. Found this Facebook post in my memories, thought I'd share it here. (The hat is a real, but generic Panama, bought here on the forum many years ago from a Seller who imported them from Ecuador...
Thanks for that tip, I'll remember it! I got out of hat buying for a long time, but I have a ton. Just started back recently, in the last year. Didn't even know the Hemp Strats existed until a few weeks ago. Love my vintage felt Strats, and really enjoy the Poly Florentine Straws too. Great for...
I found the glasses online for just over $300 (huge discount). There is a company that sells what look to be a credible Raymond Reddington sunglasses for about $80.
Point of clarification, my watch isn't a "replica", I'd never buy or wear one. It says Seiko on the dial, it does however copy...
Currently have 3 on order. Wow, 9 years since I posted here? Way too long!
On a buying binge it seems. Currently awaiting an Akubra Fed IV Deluxe in dark brown, a Stetson Hemp Stratoliner in Sage and a Stetson Vented Open Road straw in Cognac.
Beautiful! I'm waiting for a brown Fed IV Deluxe myself, looking forward to it. Will bash similar to yours. I already have a standard Fed IV, but wanted a Deluxe too, to add to my "Indy" collection, which I wear daily in moderate to cool temps (Also have an Advintage Harrison and a Herbert...
Raymond wore a large number of hats in the 10 seasons of the show (my favorite show of the last decade). The vast majority of his hats were in fact Borsalinos. Even some of the Straws.
As for Penman, I don't know of any used in the show, but that may have happened. Any manufacturer so used...
Like your new Strat, it looks good. I plan to pick up that color this year. Got the gray two years ago and love it. I replaced my pin with a reproduction, don't care for the current issue Stetson pin myself, but to each their own. Sizing in my case ran true, I ordered my usual 7 1/8 and it fits...
Thanks, exactly what I was looking for! Funny thing is, seems I even posted in the wrong thread (my original inquiry and the original pic were in this thread)
Looks like I've got a bit of reading to do, but it appears the critical info is on page 7 of the thread you link.
Thanks!
Has anyone heard or seen anything more on the green Stratoliner we saw Matt Deckard wearing a few pages back (his Twitter Feed I think someone said). I did confirm with him it was a new hat, "the new Excellent Quality Open Crown Stratoliner" is how he referred to it in a PM (I presume that's the...
Problems with that Jaxon go beyond it's wool construction and poor quality. It looks very little like the VanCleef hat you showed. It has a much taller crown, and worse, one with a lot of taper to it. About the only similarity is the flat brim.
You could look into a Stetson Amish hat (they...
Don't know any of the above. But when I took a look, I was amazed at how close it looked to the Sheridan, from Stetson's "Old West Collection" (available at a fraction of the price). It is NOT the same hat though. The Sheridan is buffalo fur, and the ribbon appears to be narrower, and the crease...
Interesting thoughts. Never considered this with jackets, as mine are not of exceptional value. I do have lots of other valuable items, guitars, firearms, watches. There are all serialized.
As it turns out, I was surprised to learn that these people feel no remorse or responsibility in this...
You are quite right. I put in a phone call to Propper, and it turns out I must have been mistaken on the brand. The lady I spoke with has been with them for 15 years, and they have not produced a Navy peacoat in that time.
Hmm... bad memory aside, I went to where I bought the last one. They...
