The colours may be different here than in the US but they do have president's red in the catalogue that I just saw. I like the smell of Avon lipsticks, it's like a sweet vanilla. Not sickly sweet but very nice. I don't notice the smell at all once I've applied it but you can smell it from the...
I have just bought a couple of Avon lipsticks that I have found to be great vintage colours: 24 hour red and President's red. They are matte and "set" when you put them on. I love them :)
I just bought this dress and coat. After being so disappointed about not getting the last coat that I bid for, I was told about this one. Can't wait to get it. Looks soooo cute !! Here's hoping this link works.

Hi Elaina. I've just recently started sewing again after many years of, well, not sewing. I have found that there are so many fabrics now that wither have vintage type patterns or sometimes you can manage to pick up a vintage fabric for a good price. Personally, I use whatever I think is either...
lol I just re-read what I posted. Great english! not lol that should read "outbid".
Can anyone tell me how to add photos so they show on the page instead of including a web link? I tried but it keeps asking me for a URL and I can't copy and paste
I was outbidded on this gorgeous coat last night. It went for $167.50. Probably just as well because I just read a message from the seller who said that when he took it out of the packaging to post there was an iron mark on it. Glad I didn't get it after all I suppose [huh]
Hi ladies. It feels like forever that I posted. Just wanted to show my latest purchase. Got it for the bargain price of $1 !! Beautiful. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&item=140026415180&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1#ebayphotohosting hope the link works
Have you got your pics done yet? would love to see them. it seems like forever since I posted here. The nasty so-n-so computer geeks have banned me from accessing this site at work so now I have to fight the other half to get some time on the home computer. Hope your event went really well...
They are so popular. I picked my machine up from the post office today!! That was super fast. So I'm reading through the instruction manual to familiarise myself with it and I realise exactly how much I've forgotten about sewing. Tension, stitch length and width, which threads and stitches to...
they're both gorgeous parts of our country. I do miss it when I think about my childhood and growing up. It certainly would've made for some beautiful photography for your wedding. Congrats!! :eusa_clap
I'll be sure to try and track down that store in the Rocks (among lots of others too)...
thanks Lady Day. Can't wait to show you all my sewing efforts once they get underway. So much fun. Brother do make good machines. My mum has had hers for well over 30 years and there's nothing ever gone wrong with it.
I originally lived near the Dandenong Ranges, we could hear Puffing Billy from our house. Then we moved to Echuca when I was in Year 9. My aunts and uncles used to live in Sth Gippsland. This is so funny!
I'll have to do my research on some more vintage stores in Sydney but I'll sure go and...
I grew up in country Vic!! That's awesome. Love it down there. I'm in Sydney at the moment. No where near as pretty as your part of the world. I find that if you are wanting hair products/accessories for classic hairstyles that you generally have to ask an older sales person as the younger ones...
haven't yet looked for patterns but I'll definitely keep an eye out for them now. Thanks. So is sewing something you're interested in but just can't do? I know a lot of the ladies on this site have talked about sewing lessons and our Spotlight stores (and I think Lincraft and a whole lot of...
Hi Spinkitten
I have found a couple of places in AS that you can get setting lotion. I have not yet used it myself but have found the info. The brand I have found is Kusco Murphy and advertises as: Acts as a volumiser to add strength and shine, Brushes out easily, Delivers strong hold for hot...
I just bought my first sewing machine.
I'm so excited. I just bought my first sewing machine last night on Ebay. It's a Brother (not sure if that's just an AS company or not), it's brand new, 37 stitches, one step button holing, etc etc etc. I don't have it yet but I've already bought some...
Rosie, that's an excellent thread. Thanks for adding it (I've only just come across it as am very new to the board). That's one of my biggest problems when sewing for myself and now you've given us all the perfect answer. Thanks again:eusa_clap
thanks ladies! Have been searching all websites posted by everyone so that I can add to my currently small vintage collection. Have decided to actually get myself a sewing machine and start making my own repros. Some of the items on the websites are to die for but I just can't afford them all...
