Maternal Dissaproval
Well, here in SF it's perfectly OK to have a Mohawk or green/purple hair or really BIG earring(s) hung from all facial parts, but a vintage fedora... not so much. But I wear them anyway. BTW, I think that black fedora fits your looks well. -
The Bowler or Derby Hat
Purlesage, dip a cotton swab into some rubbing alcohol and press/stroke lightly in a small area. If successful at removing the mark, do the rest. -
Cleaning/restoring shearling coat
To be precise, I alternated when drying. Hanger, flat on stool, dryer (no heat, air only for tumbling). With shearling, I would definitely be more careful, cause it's heaver when wet. I can see the heavy wet material pulling down and stretching.- EggHead

Cleaning/restoring shearling coat
The guinea pig jacket has dried. It took about 40 hours. It is cleaner now, but not all spots were removed. The leather feels a bit softer and there was no damage or shrinkage that I can see. I will apply a mixture of oil/lemon juice to soften it up more maybe bring out a bit of shine. Don't...- EggHead

Cleaning/restoring shearling coat
Done with step 1. Took a hair brush with boars bristles (got it at Wallgreen's sometime ago). Brushed vigorously the outside that had mold. Mold came out without any problems, also brushed inside shearling. Left hanging outside. There was some sun, but it's November, only had 2-3 hours before...- EggHead

What is the best Beret Manufacturer?
I have super-basque brand made in France. Good, thick 100% wool, relatively small diameter (10 1/2"). It has a leather sweatband but it's not as supple as on fedoras (Akubras for example). Also has cloth patch on the under-top. Still wearable. I would prefer diameter 11 1/2" though. -
