Looks great! I had my first chance to break mine out today. I've had mine for a few years now and I still am impressed when I grab the nylon. Wear it in good health!
I am currently at six and a half years. I connected with John last October and it sounded like we were going to get a chance to move forward but then he went to radio silent. We never got to the point of discussing materiel so I don't see how supplies could be a factor. I was empathetic to some...
Edged you out by getting my order in 3/31/2014. In a way this thread is reassuring that my order didn't slip through the cracks since I've been unable to establish contact. Given the circumstances I'll take the long term view.
You hit on two of my immediate reactions along with...
- If it was recent it would be interesting to post David Bowie's jacket by Ken Calder to see if it had adequate "swag"
- I liked imagining in the 3+ years since the post the OP has matured to the point that he came to this forum on advice on...
DHL will always collect. Billing two months later seems to be something that they added in the last year or so. They used to do COD. I've probably done 10+ orders through Rakuten this year all delivered via USPS no fees collected. Fed ex and UPS seem to be hit or miss.
I'm actually up in Napa now. I had hoped to wear it here but it seems like I brought the weather with me. Fortunately there seems to be ample wine with which to quench my sorrows.
Sorry... The summer refuses to go away in Texas this year and it's still been too warm for me to wear. I will report back though. Maybe I just need to schedule some vacations to colder climes...
I have both and sized up I the board racer. My aero sizing has been consistent but Carrie did warn me that the shoulders were narrow. The fit jacket confirmed that. If possible go through Thurston.
My first request for a charge back was denied by American Express because I waited until beyond the 60 day window beyond the original delivery date. They were willing to open a new I one (which they just approved) based on LD's offer to refund if you contacted them (this was posted to Instagram...
I appreciate all of the kind words about the jacket and the hide. I don't know that either Aero or Insurrection have provided any title on the color of the hide. The jacket came in at 3.5 pounds.
Thank you. I don't know the exact weight (maybe an Aero or Thurston Bros rep could say), but I would describe it as light-weight. I actually own one other kangaroo hide jacket. I thought that the lighter / thinner hide would be a good match for a cafe racer like this.
I posted a few pictures of this jacket on another thread and it seemed like there was enough interest for one of its own. This jacket came about because I wanted to take advantage of Aero offering kangaroo hide. The leather's character seemed to match up well with the Board Racer. I am very...
Lol... after spending most of day outside, the thought of putting on any unnecessary layers makes me feel physically ill.
I figured I could provide some pictures of the jacket itself. Of course, the lighting inside was crap (and this site has made me OCD about jackets) so I wound up taking...
Coincidentally, I just took delivery on a modded Board Racer that wound up being very similar to a J-100... not because I was trying to necessarily... that's just the direction that my tastes go.
I went with kangaroo with a cotton lining which I felt fit the minimalist nature of the jacket...
Of course if you had gone with a Barbour International, you would have the option of buying a matching dog jacket. I think that puts Barbour firmly in the mass marketing lead...
That's a great looking jacket finish particularly at the $1350 price point. The yen was stronger when I was looking which made the RMC version about twice the price that Dave charged me. Even as a satisfied DD customer, I have to admit that I would be all over that jacket at that price. It...
