My husband and I are about to embark on a 10 day tour of French WWI/II sites. We're getting a ferry (from UK) to Cherbourg and making our way East to visit the landing beaches, American Cemetary etc. We're staying in Arromanches for a few nights. We're then making our way up to the Somme to...
My natural hair colour is a mousy blonde so the regrowth doesn't stand out too much. The beauty of the henna is that, as it's not damaging and it's cheap I just redye my whole head again. Now that I've used it a few times, I find it much easier to apply than chemical dyes as you can kinda just...
I've recently started to henna my hair with Lush Caca Rouge after a "red to platinum in 2 weeks" disaster. I can't believe I haven't used it before. So many years wasted on ineffective chemical dyes. I've always craved the lovely coppery flame colour it's given me and could never quite achieve...
Fraulein, I think I remember reading that you henna your hair? Could I ask, do you henna your eyebrows too? They're such a perfect match! Sorry to go off topic.
Christi - that wig is awesome! I would love to shave my head just to start afresh but it just wouldn't suit my chubby little face!
I'd love to see photos of your shaven heads ladies. Please share!
Hi Grant Fan,
Not long to go! Have you considered making your own? Me and mine made our own invites, place cards, table planner etc. It took a few evenings of sitting around drinking wine with friends and family and scalpels! We were really pleased with the result and it only cost us £35 ($55)...
I usually do them by hand after trying, and failing, using stickers. I saw a You Tube tutorial but, very unhelpfully, can't remember what it was called/ who did it etc. Basically paint diagonally up each side of your nail to leave a wide triangle and then fill in the tip of the triangle to form...
Hi Kamikat,
I rarely go to London and, to be honest, the only shop I've had time to visit the last time I went was Vivien of Holloway - http://www.vivienofholloway.com/?gclid=CNngvaGr1a8CFWwntAodYwTccA
I did find these guides which may be of some use...
Went to see it a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed it. Cusack is great as always and it was a really watchable mystery/thriller. I don't think it was outstanding but there was nowt wrong with it.

Not very vintagey but I love them none the less:
I've just bought them ready for the summer. Miss L Fire have some other great shoes out now, including these beauties with bunting!:
There's a website that helps to date photographs:
http://www.photodetective.co.uk/Index.html
It's British but I guess hair/clothing styles would be roughly the same?
It's an interesting website in it's own right but I can see it would be very useful for putting a date on photographs.
Found this website and thought it may be interesting to some of you.
It's a gallery of high quality golden era movie scans.
I found it interesting for good quality close-ups of actresses hair/ make-up etc.
