Just wanted to repost this at the top of the heap:
The event is for next weeknd, Saturday the 23rd, 1pm!! Be there or be square Daddy-0!
University of Monterey, a.k.a. For Ord, near Monterey. PM me for directions!!
Nope...I disagree...I think that the paratroopers had just a bit more on the ball than anyone else.
Give me a set of M42's or a set of class A's with either tha Ike Jacket or the 4 Pocket Jacket with some highly spitshined russet brown jump boots.
Now that's style.
I am well versed on the 101st (duh), know some about the 82nd (should know more), but know very little about the 11th....I do kn ow they got one jump inot Germany that qualified for a combat jump (Capt. Lewis Nixon got his 4th combat star on that jump- he was an observer and the plane he was in...
Think I will add to that...
"We pull upon the Risers
We land upon the grass,
We never land upon our feet,
We always hit our ass.
Hidee Hydee Christ almighty
who the hell are we?
Rim-ram Gawddamn
We're Parchute infantry!"
Hey Haliburton- ya ought to try jumping at 1500 ft AGL under...
Man, you both (Howie and Billy) are a couple of goldbrickin' showboaters!!
See what jumping out of an airplane does to good 'ol wide eyed American boys?!?! Showboating, self-promoting gold bricks...geez...
By the way, that website again is:

That particular C-47 could be brought up to airworthyness very easily, however one of the owners won't sign off on it. But it is in pretty good shape.
When we went out, Don Bolce, who is an Air Corps veteran and who was the radio/Rebecca set operator, gave us a detailed tour- pretty cool...
I too am involved with WWII Living History- I am with the E Co 2/506 PIR 101 AB group in California. Our unit is members of both the CHG and the RPS.
My first post here, thought it would be appropriate as well!
