The other day I had the pleasure to receive two berets from Manufacture de Bérets, a brown one with ligette and a black one with leather headband, both 11p.
I like them a lot, both are of great quality.I had asked about the brown color here before. I am not disappointed: A very dark, chestnut...
Does anyone please have pictures of the Auloronesa/Orthesa in brown, under daylight conditions?
I would like a brown beret, but on the pictures I have seen it looks very dark and, to my eye, not very attractive. However, I have not seen the beret in the wild, so that might differ considerably.
Thank you, Daan -- I knew both were high up on the quality scale, but was interested in the specifics and the difference between them, which you answered nicely.
After a rather long absence, I would like to gather some information, or maybe, estimation, from folks who own both, since a new beret is necessary:
Regarding shrinkage, which do you think will be less affected during the course of a regularly-used beret lifespan, the Béret Foulard Universel or...
One thing I like about berets is that they are so versatile - I added three pictures, on all of them I am wearing the same beret, a czech Service Star with a badge I attached. I did not take it off between the photos, just reshaped it while it was on my head. Looks like three different hats...

"VEB" means Volkseigener Betrieb...
Hello Neophyte,
just don't give up too soon the hope to get your hat into at least as fine a shape as it was.
My favourite hat for years, an older Mayser, has been with me through any weather, having been soaked several times, and it always was possible to get it into shape again.
Two...
Hello Gentlefolks,
maybe you could please let me know if there is a name for this crease, and what it is:
OT: Since this is my first post, please allow me a short introduction. For many months I have been lurking on this board now and then, and it has been a tremendous help for me...
