Orvis sells some lapelled waistcoats in a variety of flavours, mostly tweedy. i have one and really like it. the quality is i think superior to the sites you mentioned, although they have a tendency to run a bit on the generous side.
the picture will be the same as the one on the wested website: http://www.wested.com/dr-who-jacket-20-p.asp
measurements are as follows:sleeve length from the top of the shoulder to the seam is 25". length of the jacket from the start of the collar in the back is 31". with the jacket buttoned...
wested dr.who/das boot jacket for sale. XL sized, distressed brown cowhide. some nice old school tailoring details. the only flaw is a loose button. cool looking jacket, but not my thing, unfortunately. $200.00 plus shipping
hello all,
i'm looking for a double breasted vest with notched lapels. i saw one online a while ago, but now i can't find it. any suggestions? thanks. _tone
if anyone has one, preferably XL, 46-48, sitting forlornly in the closet, taking up valuable space, that they'd be willing to part with please let me know. I fancy the style, and for some reason they never show up in the local thrift stores here in my little village in rural British Columbia...
these trousers look like they could be of interest to a somebody or two here on the lounge. follow this linkie thingie: http://www.stabo.co.uk/Shop/mens/trouser.htm
apologies if it's been posted earlier.
i have a herringbone weave linen suit from brooks bros and the jacket has similiar details, with the belted back and the gusseted(?) shoulders. it must have been a phase they were going through recently. great looking jacket, and you wear it well. i'd dearly love to find a proper harris tweed suit.
it would make a nice photographic prop for a vintage family photo shoot, but the children i know don't really care too much about vintage clothes, they just want to get out and do stuff.
skinny ties look great with the right suit. generally, to my untrained eye, things of a particular vintage look better together, so a suit from the 50's looks better with the accessories that come from the same general era.
my vote is for the money clip. you can keep a credit card, driver's license, in there as well. beats a wallet and confounds pickpockets as an added bonus.
about those little buttons on the tops of newsboy caps. is it like some sort of vestigial organ from the days when the panels were originally buttoned together on top? inquiring minds want to know.
