I never understood that. I like to "dress up" when I have the energy to in the mornings (school starts very early and I like my sleep, thankyou :)). I really do wish women would take more pride in their femininity now a days. I hate a lot of what girls wear to be, well, attractive. Guys tend...

I just splurged and bought this. Not exactly vintage, but vintage repro, which is always nice because I'm afraid to wear real vintage often. I had been looking at it for almost a month (and drooling might I add). I figure, hey, I need something nice to...
I ordered some samples, it says only three applications, but its much much more than that if you know how to put it on right. The foundation smells so nice and it lasts so long and it looks very good. The lipstick (I got Red Velvet and it's very, very nice). I'm thinking of investing in one...

The written portion of that link is from the "Vintage Face" book. (It's the same as the 1940's hairstyle book, but for makeup, which, by the way, you can find at your local library like I did, instead of paying up the big bucks for it)
Ha, I can't wear vintage all the time, really. I only have a couple dresses and I go to an art school, so wearing vintage all the time would be very bad for my clothes!
You'd probably look very good with at the shoulder length hair or just past the shoulder length hair. You can do shorter 40's style hair-dos but your hair will still be long.
And I just dyed my hair black because I was tired of it being red. I think it looks much nicer with my current...
Ah, okay, now I understand. Haha, I know what I did wrong now! I teased everything so the hair I rolled around the rats nest was frizzy and therefore made my roll lumpy. I'm such a goof :D
Ooooh and pictures would be nice, though. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see them.
Well, I'm chiming in a bit late, but oh well, I wanted to put in my input on this matter.
I'll only swear around people I've grown very comfortable with, which is really only close friends and well, my parents, and I swear if I'm by myself to get anger off my chest. I've pretty much...
Do I keep the hair I'm rolling around the rats nest of my hair smooth? Or do I just tease the bajeebers out of everything?
(I can't wait to try this again.)
Thank you all so very much :). And your hair looks lovely in that avatar, Jess.
Ha, I'm new too. I didn't know this thread existed!
I'm Amanda, or Mandolynn as most people call me (my middle name is Lynn, making my full name an instrument). I've been obsessed with vintage (40's and 50's mostly) for a long time and I just came across this forum and I thought I'd join...
I just ordered a nice cincher/garter belt a couple days ago from whatkatiedid.com (the black with pink one) to wear under my prom dress (a faux vintage find on ebay, very 1940's starlette looking. I absolutely adore it). I'm already a curvy gal, but I like to have that extra, well, umph, and...
I tried rolling for the first time yesterday, and I did a horrible job at it. Does anyone have any tips? I looked at the nocturne site and read the instructions and I did alright, but my roll was so um...lumpy. :(
I also have short-ish hair (it's between my chin and shoulders, but almost to...
