The larger revolver is a vintage .38/44 from the '30s. The smaller one is an Iver Johnson Secret Service Special much like the one my grandfather carried while bodyguarding Chicago politicians in the '30s and '40s.- HeadHunter

What did your grandparents pack for personal protection in the Golden Era?
My grandfather had a .25 auto and a .32 revolver but no holsters. He just stuck one of them in his pocket. My dad carried a .22 auto on a string around his neck.- HeadHunter
