Hi. I'm a woodworker ( I build guitars). I got into hatmaking and made myself a rounding jack (after a little trial and error). Inevitably, I made 7 which I'm now selling. I have both black walnut and quartersawn mahogany.
These are probably not the exact quality of those that regularly...
For sale is a very nice light gray Stetson Nutria fedora, reworked by Art Fawcett. Hat is a 7 3/8. Original Stetson liner (no idea what it dates to).
It's the impeccable work of Art Fawcett's ribbon, sweatband and blocking. Thick hat, and the Nutria is a great felt. I bought two of...
Try giving Park Melvin a shout. He can do a hat like that for less than what you quote in your initial post. He made me a coffee brown hat (no brim edge though), and I know he can do the teardrop bash to perfection. Just a thought. He's at Falcon Park Hattery. Google it.
Nobody will believe this, and that's ok, but I scored a pair of Allen Edmonds, Leeds today in my size, in the much more expensive burgundy color. Retail price is $525. I paid...$36 dollars, and tax.
No wonder people gush about these shoes. I've never seen their equal, and I've had some...
Absolutely. Call Jim at www.jwhats.com His name is Jim Whittington, and he makes those sweatbands, does embossing, etc. Now the sweat will need to be sized, and sewn together, but I think there are probably a few "how tos" on this site that will explain how to do that. Good luck.
I'm sorry but I really don't have many photos of my hats from Parker, but I'd be happy to take a few...puffy bows and all. I can definitively tell you that he is not set up for foot traffic. He does this part-time, albeit in a well appointed shop. Like most of us, he's just a hat love that...
Carldelo:
No, he doesn't use a conformer. Typically you measure your size, pick from either his existing models, or talk about your own desire, and he begins from there. In my own case, I was easy for him since I'm a fairly solid 7 3/8. Anything close to that size works well for my noodle...
I own four Falcon Park Hats, from Dr. Parker Melvin, all dress fedoras in the following colors: silbelly, steel, brown and black. You can see a couple of them in the photos on his site. I have owned a number of fine quality hats, and to be very honest Parker's quality is equal to or, in many...

Yes, yes you do! Johnny Depp would WANT you to own this hat. Channel your inner Depp. :D Besides, two inches is a tweener, it's on the cusp of respectability and frivolity. Chics just love that kind of attitude.
