Music, and plenty of it. And of course, certain dames.

    Do you have a crush?

I hate to chime in on this one but... I do have a crush at the moment, and luckily for you ladies, she's not a lounger. And best of all, she likes me... but she likes her boyfriend better... and she's still very much in love with her ex-boyfriend!

    Halloween Costumes

Thanks, I could've done that.... but I could hardly see and breathe under those! They kept creeping in front of all orifices. (On the bright side, I got my picture taken with a flapper)

    Halloween Costumes

My little Hallowe'en epic... Well, this is how it went- I went to school in my usual cold weather attire and I seeing how a good chunk of the locals were donning some sort of guise, I felt I wanted to join in. Not having anything but my regular clothes and a few extras still inside the coat, I...

Amazing pictures! Thanks for posting. That sounds familiar. I recall watching a home movie of an airship (which one I cannot remember) taking off with ground crew still hanging from the mooring lines. The film also showed one or two of them falling off from a considerable altitude. Could...

    Three Strip Technicolor of 1934.

Well, I'm not Lizzie, but I can answer that one. Screening a Technicolor film is no different than screening an ordinary film, since it's only one strip of film; it's the camera that takes up three reels. The two-colour system used only one reel that alternately registered the red and green frames.

    Three Strip Technicolor of 1934.

Swell stuff! It's amazing how well preserved these clips are, no fading, scratches or anything else (okay, save for some very slight colour fringing). The "shot yesterday" analogy just doesn't apply. I've seen the complete Service With A Smile short, and it's amazing to see all those cars when...

    What are you listening to?

Stardust by Paul Whiteman. Quite possibly the best arrangement I've ever heard of that tune.
