Reviving a zombie thread since I just picked up a Crew Millerain field jacket on that auction site. Will post pics later when I can. I've been looking for an alternative Trialmaster type waxed cotton jacket for a long time. Stumbled upon this and couldn't say no. One thing I don't like about the...
On that style jacket I prefer the sleeves to just touch or extend slightly beyond the knuckle of my thumb. Body is slight too short too but can't tell for sure with your shirt untucked.
Overall, agreed with another poster that the jacket is cut too short and perhaps too tight.
If you want a trad style jacket with pockets for armor and vents, might want to check out Foxcreek's Grayson and Vented Racing too. I had a Grayson that looked 99% like a classic cafe racer but had some very subtle modern touches like hidden vents, detachable storm collar, zip-out liner, and...
If you're in the NYC area I highly recommend you check out the Cockpit retail store. Dunno why they get so much hate but I've tried on their various G-1 variants and was impressed.
Vintage but not golden-era. It's a 3/4 length brown leather car coat made under the Field & Stream label. Great shape considering its age. Tagged 40 but fits bigger.
Happy Bidding.

It used to fit me great. :( It always did fit me a bit on the tight side. After gaining a few more pounds I'm now in search of a size 44. I see that FC has their Xmas sale going on now so might be tempted to splurge on a new jacket.
Bidding starts at 1 penny and ends Dec 6th at 10:30 PM EST. GL.

Up for auction is a Schott B-3 style bomber jacket. The garment is made from 100% sheep shearling. Condition is great and the...

You're off base. Sure there's alot of crap that's produced. But there is also alot of high quality motorcycle apparel made over there too. It really depends on the specification of the company contracting with the factories making the products.
Congrat on the jacket. They are certainly nice and yes it is eye opening the first time you wear a fully perf jacket and feel the breeze zip right through and out the back. Haha. And having tried on Vanson's perf stuff I've noticed the holes are noticeably bigger than other perf gear which...
Wouldn't spend that kind of dough on that jacket. Like others said... 3 piece back, imported, and baggy cut. Now, with that said, the bay is flooded w/ nice used examples in the sub 100 dollar range w/ none of those deal killers.
There's a long thread that you can search for that has alot of info on the company. Their prices are reasonable and quality is top notch. Thickest, softest leather I've ever owned. Highly functional for their specific purpose but can be worn casually too.
My Schott after a few years of use in all sorts of weather. First pic shows the garment after I had some work done to it by Arrow.
And here's a pic of it brand new for comparison. Grain really starts to come out the more it breaks in.
I prefer waist length jackets to hit at least 1" below the bottom of my belts. Try wearing it w/ a tucked shirt. I think you could get away with it but I personally would prefer more length in both the sleeves and waist.
FYI... usually when I have a sneaking suspicion that a garment doesn't...
Perhaps there are other jacket styles out there that would suit you better. The elastic band does tend to ride up and a larger waistline probably does not help matters.
Gee never thought this thread would go to 5 pages.
Would never wear one of those cheapo pleather cafe-racer type jackets w/ an integrated hood. Wouldn't wear anything made out of pleather for that matter.
Now layering a cotton hoodie under a cafe jacket is another story. For me it's very...
