I guess the lesson is that if you live in the U.S.A., and even if you watch this on Sunday night (as I do), DON'T READ THIS THREAD! My goodness, people, keep some things to yourselves!
I did too! :) There were so many great moments in this movie, and with these actors involved, it's hard to go wrong. If there are people hesitating about seeing this movie -- don't!
Well, I'd give it to _Moonrise Kingdom_, but seeing that wasn't nominated, I'd probably go with Lincoln. ;) _Les Miserables_ had too many weak singing performances for me, including poor Russell Crowe, trying his best to sound like a musical actor (and failing), and Anne Hathaway crying her way...
I really enjoyed this movie! You just sit back and take it all in. Not a whole lot of thinking to be done in this flick, and sometimes that's just refreshing. It's very period and I think a lot of people in this forum will enjoy it for that aspect alone.

Both articles are of the most excellent quality, as Poirot might say. :)
filfoster, you obviously don't know Poirot very well. Firstly, he is a devout Catholic. Secondly, he met his one love, Countess Vera Rossakof, who turns out to be a thief. Otherwise, he is consumed by his work. No, I am...
Wow! That's quite a difference. The first photo reminds me of a 19th century English author, while the 'after' is quite sleek and sophisticated. Well done on their part! Of course, your photos are great too!
LOL!!! Yes, I agree! :D Well said. That's why we have hats. Also (again), as far as "poofy hair," I assume everyone in the Lounge has heard of hair product. Getting up and not having to do anything with your hair in the morning is not some special virtue for which you get points. It's a good...
I agree it's best to leave it on, put it beside you, or place it on your knee/lap. On the other hand, I can find plenty of photos of men wearing hats inside diners back in the day, so I don't know how contrary it is to actual hat etiquette.
