Anyone spoken to John lately? I've been trying to get in touch about repairing the zip on my Dubow, but I've got nothing back from him. I had spoken to him about it earlier last year, but I've heard nothing since.
I've put my barely-used TCB up for sale on eBay. Bought in May, it's hardly had any wear due to the unseasonably wet summer we've had in Scotland so far, and guitar-related bills mean I can't have something this expensive just sitting in my wardrobe, so it's on to eBay...
I noticed on Instagram that Aero are now doing Nappa Lux from the Badalassi. Anyone who was frequenting the Lounge four or five years ago will recall that this leather was seriously sought-after. I've only seen one example of it, an Aero made from a way-heavy butterscotch sample. Interested to...
As promised, here's some fit pics of my purchase from Aero's sale. I've always liked the barnstormer design but wasn't sure 'it was me'. Well, Ken insisted I give this one from the sale rack a go, and it turns out I was wrong!
To use a Scottish term, this one is a stoater: the mid-weight seal...
A message from Aero:
OPEN DAY & SALE
We’re constantly being asked if we’ll ever have another open day, after the resounding success of our event back in 2016… good news is now is the time! We’re happy to announce there’ll be another Aero Open Day and sale in our factory in Galashiels on...
Background: having seen a fantastic Wayfarer in natural Vicenza on Thurston's website, I decided that my collection had a hole in that was a perfect fit for it.
So I took a trip to Gala to try one on - I think most people find themselves sitting between sizes and I toggle between 36 and 38...
I picked up a couple of t-shirts from this company. Interesting concept: using the wabash discharge printing method to create the images rather than simply sticking a transfer image on to the front, thus avoiding any issues about shrinkage and ironing (it's literally part of the t-shirt). Nice...
Was over visiting the Aero factory this afternoon, a chance to catch up with Ken and have a nose around some of their new items that are in the pipeline!
Some very interesting things afoot. Aero have been working on producing a 1930s-style three piece tweed suit for a while and are in the throes...
Ken was in touch with me today to share some pics of a jacket that he made way back in 1969 which had been re-discovered, amazingly, in Edinburgh.
Made from genuine python skin, the jacket has the distinctive Ruskin label that Ken used on some of his early work down in London.
Only a handful...
Opportunity to snap up a pair of LVC jeans at a bargain price. Make the most of my mistake. I bought the wrong size and after the initial wash they were too small. So for a buyer, there's all of a benefit and none of the risk!

Willing to consider...
Found this site selling LVC at close to half-price. Picked up a pair of 1937s, but there are a few patterns up for grabs!

A fantastic 10-minute BBC Radio Scotland feature on Aero. Ken covers its 60s origins, including donuts with Hendrix Experience's Mitch Mitchell and ignoring Freddie Mercury, plus a tour around the factory with Denny and Holly!
Starts 1hr 23mins: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0001rwy
Ken was on BBC Radio Scotland today, chatting about Aero's Freddie Mercury jacket in the new Bohemian Rhapsody film, but also much, much more...

The practice of re-dying A-2s during World War II intrigues me. For those unfamiliar with it, this was done to russet jackets that needed a bit of tarting up, redyed seal or dark seal, before being reissued.
I know this was a common practice with Aero A-2s, they look fantastic as wear and tear...
I've got a deuce of A-2s up sale on eBay. One is a rare and beautiful 1980s late-war style, non-contract made from russet buffalo. It's fully-broken in, has a great patina and looks fantastic.

Second is a no-name 1756 contract A-2, three years old, made...
Well, people, here we are... After tracking it all the way from Seattle, across the Atlantic, and then up to Glasgow, I took ownership of my GW Dubow this evening...
So, wielding a knife carefully, I prised open the box, which, all credit to John, was unlikely to be opened casually by anyone...
During my recent visit to Aero in Gala, Denny showed me a sample for their latest boot design, The Hampden. I haven't had a chance to post them until now, so here's a few pics:
For anyone beyond the British isles, the name is probably a bit of an esoteric one, but it actually explains the...
Beautiful and rare Aero Leather A-2 - pre-Galashiels production - made from buffalo leather. Incredibly hard-wearing with a fantastic grain and patina.

Extremely nice one-off Aero A-2. Made using sample of Italian leather also used by Good Wear. It also has an original World War II Crown zipper.
