Ask a Question, Get An Answer About Outerwear

I don't think the seam on the back will bother while wearing the jacket (as far as I can tell it's a flat french seam). Basically it can be said the more panels are used in a jacket, the less large area and the more expensive panels have to be used. In vintage models, both back sections can be...

(Battle) Poll-Real McCoys J24 vs Attractions Grizzly

Due to the unfavorable photos (hanging shirt, shooting angle), it is difficult to make a statement about the fit. The style is a matter of taste, both Jackets are cool (J-24 and Grizzly). The black x white J-24 is no doubt sensitive when it comes to dirt, but that's what counts in the end, it's...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Nice Joe McCoy Deadwood! I used to have one in black but decided to sell it because I felt, I'm not the 1970's jacket type. But I have to say, the jacket had an excellent cut and fit perfectly. Looks great on you.

Leather jacket newbie questions re. Vanson jacket

Nice jacket, congratulations. Although I'm not a Vanson expert (there are some more knowledgabe members in this forum) I would actually date the jacket in their early days because of the label. Unless the jacket feels dry or stiff, I personally wouldn't do anything to the jacket, maybe rub it...

    Five Star Leather Jackets

@ton312 I see it that way too, especially the dimensions of the applications. They look balanced on the jacket pictured, nice design. Nevertheless, I would forward the following measurements from a jacket that fits you, any way (it takes a little time to measure a jacket thoroughly, but in the...

    Five Star Leather Jackets

@ton312 For me, that would be at least the other dimensions (marked in red) that I would pass on to 5*. But of course you have enough experience with orders from 5*, so just a little tip from me ;)

    Five Star Leather Jackets

@ton312 I would give 5* much more requested measurement infos adapted to your desired type of jacket, as stated in my post earlier in this thread. Btw: I forgot e.g. to define the exact height of the Breast Zipper because I relied on the photos on the homepage. Lo and behold, there were also...

    Five Star Leather Jackets

I really like their Steerhide, I opted for the waxed finish (a bit more shiny but no ironing, only available for goat). It has a nice texture an pebble grain also consisting in thickness all the way through.

The Legendary DURABLE (Wild One) Jacket

Some more infos about Durable: Interesting time for leather jacket manufacturers. Before the boom of radio and later t.v., North America was reliant on printed media to spread marketing and brand. The majority of the economy was centered around ports of call, and the major transport system was...

Vintage Outerwear: Threads of the Past

Of course it's a typo, I just kidding because you can see often in japanese magazines some mispronunciation especially the well known "R / L" :)

Vintage Outerwear: Threads of the Past

Seems a japanese version of Nelco called Welco, LOL! I have never heard the name of this manufacturer before, apologies for the careless and unquestioning adoption of the Japanese translation. I corrected it in my post, thank you for pointing that out @ton312.
