Saw the film on Friday and really enjoyed it. I was not expecting much, after Pearl Harbour and Redtails, but was pleasantly surprised.
Yes, CGI heavy, but there simply would be no other way to make this. No Dauntlesses about or WW2 Carriers etc.
Flight sequences were thrilling!
Certainly not...
For A-2s... Bill Kelso's Liberty Horsehide.
Platon's Italian horse (don't think its Vicenza) is nice also. My seal Dubow to all appearances incl weight, feel etc is almost identical to a seal WW2 Aero original A-2 I once owned.
Eastman's hide can be great, depending on the batch. It varies...
Hi there,
Thats quite a piece of history. Looks like an Aero to me.
You may have better luck finding more info here - https://www.vintageleatherjackets.org
These guys are more focused on WW2 flight jackets than civilian jackets.
Bought these NEW, worn only a few times. They are in NEW, MINT condition, sold with original box, case and cloth...

Originally launched in 1957, Ray-Ban Caravan sunglasses are a streamlined, geometric model and an alternative to the classic Aviator Sunglasses...
Just received my 'new' AVI LTHR back from having the knit replaced. Looks much better with the mid brown knit than the dark seal.
Knit from MASH Japan and replaced by Byson here in the UK. Super comfy A-2... (Apologies for the toilet bowl - my elevator ride is too short for pics).
Great thread... So funny.
I did own a SMW A-2 a while back, seal goat etc. It was well-made and nice enough for a generic take on the classic A-2.
But for that price! Hell, you have so many better, more authentic options. Sorry SMW.

Bob Dong and Bronson make crackers! These are copied of Buzz Rickson jackets (I'm to be corrected)... Very good quality, same sizing. I had both a Bob Dong and Bronson B-10 and they were very good. Nothing comes close to Eastman for B-10 and B-15s though.
I've owned a few G-1s/ M422as from almost everyone, incl originals. I'll say this...
ELC's G-1 is nice enough, but is it worth that price tag? Personally don't think so. Get one at a really good price, in really good condition... maybe.
Cockpit's 100 mission G-1 is a great jacket! The knits are...
Second most of what's been said above..
All these are superb leathers for an A-2.
My ELC Warhorse jackets did vary a bit. I guess this is as you say, dependant on the batch of leather used. All have worn is very quickly though. Great drape. None of them felt stiff or thin.
The Vicenza samples I...
Very nice, looks superb. Keep for sure.
Rob has always been fantastic, always gets back to you, always patiently answers questions and handles requests...
Have to say, of all the top-tiers... ELC always wins on customer service.
