Any places in or around New York City that repair leather jackets in a way that’s durable enough for motorcycle leathers? I have a USAMade Co. with a small hole in the shoulder I’d like patched up, that’s strong enough to hold up to road rash.
I know I’ve seen them.
Not the Easy Rider western suede jacket but a black cross zip with fringe on the arms and back. Maybe a concho or two.
Anyone know the history of the fringed black cross zip?
I’m keeping an eye on EBay but any suggestions for brands? Schott made a few.
Anyone own one of...
Has this happened to anyone else?
You see a jacket, order it up, you open the box, and it’s everything you expected it to be buuuuuut…
It just isn’t “your jacket”?
As I sift through my closet doing some sorting I find some that I’ve;
A) moved passed the style, or
B) “it shrank..."

I’m sure you know the expression but just in case anyone thinks I’m talking about the Steven King Clown from the IT novel, it just means being smart with your smaller purchases but not with the larger ones
I have a closet full of Vansons and a few other jackets and riding pants from other...
SCHOTT bros made a leather safari jacket, and I kind of think it's awesome...
Am I crazy?
The tag says it's "schott bros sportswear" collection. What should I expect from the leather and the craftsmanship? It's tag matches the look, VERY 70s LOL.
But I like it! I think it has potential.
I’m in need of a suit for an upcoming awards party in about a month. I have no suits that fit.
I’m a new dad, with a new dad-bod and my current closet isn’t cooperating.
I’d like something with a high waist, high crotch, and high armscye, for ease of movement. You know how Bertie Wooster can...

When do you wear them,
why do you like them,
And is there a place for a cloak thread on Fedora Lounge…?
For all you bikers and motorcyclists out there, what’s your gear count like?
How many jackets?
How many pairs of pants?
Boots?
Gloves?
how ‘bout a track suit!

I’d like to get a Highwayman with the quilting of the Colorado on the yoke, shoulders, and elbows.
Delete the epaulettes.
Probably/maybe shorten the front just a smidge, but not a super high priority.
I’d like to get this in a standard size, I’m not super tall or short.
This means adding...
The belt is attached so it's pulling on the laces? Why???
Why not just make the belt a couple inches longer and stitch it to the back side of the laced panel so it's pulling the laces closed?
Is there a practical reason for this that I'm not seeing?
These are two shots of the Fox River Classic...
Just looking for some support and maybe advice.
I've always been into niche hobbies, vintage style is only one of them. I have been practicing HEMA (historic eropean martial arts) specifically the Fiore de Lebiri tradition for years. I long board and cycle (both pedal and motorized). I've...
Hello!
This is the second A7 I picked up, I like haveing a spare of difficult to replace items. My first dates to the year 2000, and that's my basis for comparison.
The build and details of this are THE SAME except for three things. I'm postibg pics of the newer build, if you'd like to see the...
Hey all,
I recently picked up a Barbour International A7, the McQeen trials coat! It is massively cool, and I found a nice and generous size 50 that lets me wear it over any riding gear I like. From the minimal armored shirt up to a full on leather Vanson it covers it all!
Only issue is...
And WOW! even I forgot how stiff a fresh Vanson is! I got into leather jackets as a rider, more than "through jackets" but I have always appreciated classic built-to-be-repaired items.
My first Vanson was my only factory new buy, it was on closeout through New Enough Leathers dot com. It's the...
This might not be quite the right forum but I'm giving it a shot anyway...
I'm in the market for a fresh pair of motorcycle touring boots. Aerostich has discontinued their Combat Touring Boot, and Chippewa has dropped their heritage line, so no more Rally Odessa boots.
There are some rally...
I bought my first Vanson, a Vanson Sattelite in glow in the dark "Solar" leather way back in my 20s. I still have it, but now that I'm a dad in my mid forties that size 40 Sattelite is a good two sizes too small. I can JUUST squeeze into a 44 now, and likely I'm a Vanson 46 at this point. OUCH...

I'm trying to track down a classic four pocket/belted/buckled throat, buckled wrists, waxed cotton riding jacket. This is for wind and drizzle protection on a bike, I know the limitations of waxed canvas. I'll be wearing it over a Ventmax...
Hey guys,
I KNOW there used to be a chart with the actual jacket measurements of Vanson coats.
All the coats are made from three or four chassis, the sport rider, the cross zip, street jackets, and maybe one more? Touring coats? It had each size, the front, back, sleeve, shoulder, pit to pit...
Hey everyone!
I’ve been looking for a canvas Swedish Tanker, the double breasted coat with the big map pocket on the chest? For about six months now. Two were recently posted on EBay and the first one sold for $320.00! I was in the running but that’s just too rich for my blood!
Anyway, I’m...
