Does anyone have any information on Sam Hollander, a former clothier at 364 Asylum St in Hartford Conn?

I picked up this early 1900s Hollander's jacket at a thrift shop 5 years ago. I know it's not a suit, but I didn't see any other forum that seemed to fit. I was wondering if anyone had any information on Sam and his store as I love learning the provenance of the things I buy. I could only find a...

Does anyone have any information on "Standard Brand"? Found a derby hat today.

    That's a great looking hat. Unfortunately I wear a 7, and I wouldn't dare try stretching it.

Anyone ever heard of John The Hatter in Englewood NJ?

Hat came in today. Unfortunately it is not a 7 but feels more like 6 1/2. Felt is a little bit rougher than my 50s royal stetson but overall, like mentioned, is a very well made hat.

Anyone ever heard of John The Hatter in Englewood NJ?

Your positive comments just make me that much more excited to get my hands on the hat when it comes in. I'm surprised to see he was open as early as 1935. To be open for 35+ years and have 2 stores, I have no doubt his work must have been stellar.

Anyone ever heard of John The Hatter in Englewood NJ?

I recently won this at auction. The only thing I can find is that the business was filed in 1949. Any information on this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/JOHN-THE-HATTER-CUSTOM-MADE-HAT-BEAVER-WITH-ORIGINAL-BOX-L-K-/154705874652?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

    Borsalino Alessandria Dating Liner

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I turned it over and saw it was a Borsalino. I love gray/black grosgrain hats, I have a Knox twenty five and a Mallory, but I'm going to have to sell the Borsalino and a few others to pay for a medical procedure.

    Borsalino Alessandria Dating Liner

I bought this Borsalino hat yesterday. It has the wind cord but is missing the button. I read a thread that dates the hats by the first two digits under the sweatband. The only number I see is 1177 and this hat surely isn't from 1911. I would guess mid 50's? The store it came from was open...
