The V-taper silhouette is mostly a result of the wearer's build, particularly if you want to go with a lighter weight leather. The CXL leathers are stiffer and hold their shape a bit more, so you could potentially achieve a slightly broader look at the shoulder than you could in a lighter weight...
Just got this Aero D-pocket Ridley off the Thurston Bros. featured stock page. Specs look pretty good to me but it might be a little snug. If it doesn't fit, I'll return it and back down the custom rabbit hole I go. Photos courtesy of the TB website.
Very excited, been looking at D-pockets for...
Great jacket, the natural leather is exciting and I'm looking forward to your future updates! Considering your location you may want to keep a plastic bag handy in case you get caught in the rain. Water-spotting leaves pretty noticeable marks on raw leather. Do you have any plans to condition...
I have a pair of wescos morrison boots in dark green, it's an awesome color. I don't wear them every day but they're always fun. I think keeping it is the right choice, particularly since the jacket fits and has no construction issues (quite the opposite, it looks flawless). With the added...
Keep it. The color is incredible and the fit looks great to me. Carcoats look awful if they are too tight, and this one sits well on you. IMO the jacket should be a little large with just a T-shirt as these coats are meant to sit over a buttoned shirt or light jacket/sport coat. Furthermore...
Copying patterns and designs is pretty rampant in fashion (here's a good and relevant article-
https://dieworkwear.com/post/182837672114/how-thrift-stores-drive-fashion). This facet of the industry is combated by designers through branding and labeling their pieces to ensure their authenticity...
Im liking that broken twill, I had a pair of N&F broken twill jeans and the fabric was quite comfortable. N&F jackets have some bonkers fabrics but the lack of handwarmer pockets keeps me from going after them.
I think the only think potentially worse than heavily pre-distressed jeans are jeans so skinny you have to grease up your legs to get them on. Some people have thin legs and slim cuts look good/natural on them. Other people do not, and slim cuts look less than flattering. What I find funny about...
Ill go against the grain here and come out in support of the cuffed sleeves. It's a cross-zip in yellow deerskin--it's playful by nature and flipping the cuffs just adds to it. I also fully disagree with the notion that the cuffs detract from the silhouette. Deerskin, especially when thick, has...
There was absolutely something purposely done to the jacket, but it's more on the manufacturing side than the the wearer. All the wearer did was over-wear and under-launder. Most raw/selvedge denim in the workwear market right now is designed to fade with higher contrast than "standard" denim or...
I have the indigo IH rider's jacket. It's a fantastic jacket, really well cut and put together like you'd expect from IH. It fits closer than my type 3 though--both are size 40. Did you go with the indigo or non-fade superblack?
The demand for this storm rider seems pretty high so hopefully I'll be able to nab one in 40 when they go live. Sometimes these things hang around the IHUK site for months and other times you miss out on your size the same day they go up.
The riffmaster has some serious bones, the 21oz black denim is a class of it's own. Monotone black with copper buttons is seriously cool. Offers a good bit of variability compared to the indigo type 3 you just got. In my opinion denim jackets are so much more wearable than leather it makes more...
If I remember correctly that first time estimate was wait time for the sample, the current 3-4 months is for the production run. Been waiting for this IH storm rider for a while....
IH Type 3 in 21oz denim, added a sleeve shot to show wear. Had this jacket since late October but haven't been able to wear it much this winter. Absolute tank of a trucker.
I've got a fair amount of IH pieces that I love but their general design seems to be pretty safe--basically overbuilt and overspecced classics. I also wear a lot of Stevenson Overall, they have some incredibly cool stuff with very nice detailing. They don't really build anything with fabrics...
