Detroit area shoemaker Sibley’s made these Shell chukkas in the 50s according to a catalog I found. I don’t know how long the model existed but they are old. The Shell has the characteristic aging. Soles aren’t in bad shape but they’ll need new heals.

I’ve never found any correlation between the markings on the bottom and shoe sizes. I assumed it was an operator or inspection number.

This is a Robert Talbott Carmel hand sewn tie. It’s very likely the nicest tie I have handled or own. The silk is soft and drapes perfectly. It’s got a decent amount of thickness to the liner without being stiff. It produces a particularly good knot.
