Outerwear is sort of a separate forum but there a few boots threads in “General Attire...” if someone is looking for inspiration.
The engineer boots thread is quite interesting and a it’s frequented by a few people that regularly post here.
Hop over to the other side guys, while checking out...
I’m with those who say that if you decide to go with Aero, you should not expect perfect stitching. It’s not just the comparatively low stitch count and big stitch holes but a few wonky stitches here and there are the norm. My grizzly had a couple of empty stitch holes on one of the cuffs but...
Yes I see your point but I don’t think it’s just that simple. The average joe can’t feed a family, pay a mortgage and spend crazy money on artisanal made clothes. They’ll last (?) probably more than Zara but the initial outlay is for the financially privileged. Stuff that gets constantly used...
What?!? that jacket above €300!?! It retailed at around £2000+. While I think RRL is overpriced (tell me a fashion brand that isn’t) I still think €300 is one hell of a deal.
I’m more for tonal stitching or for subtle contrasting colours (dark brown or dark olive with black).
Contrasting thread dramatically brings out the quality of the stitching. Something to keep in mind depending on the maker imho.
RRL normally do nice washes but that I agree isn’t their finest example.
I’m a fan of orSlow jean jackets and i find them to be some of the best when putting into the equation vintage fit, denim feel and realistic washes (there are also unwashed versions).
I also think there is nothing wrong...
On my Aero Grizzly I had button cuffs that were pretty narrow and I struggled to get my hands in and out. The cuffs were also backed up with leather so where they overlapped it was almost 1cm of CXL. Good luck softening that up.
On my Hooch Hauler instead there is almost no taper whatsoever...
Looks good in the pictures but if it doesn’t feel right when you try it on normally it isn’t a good sign.
The traditional Levi’s Type III doesn’t have high armholes so there is something odd going on with the pattern they’ve used.
I can see how one could mix them up due to the front buttons that steal the show but it’s enough to take a closer look to see these are two different jackets. The backs especially share very little. I don’t think this is splitting hairs, it’s just being accurate.
Love that @torfjord! I’ve got something along those lines coming, used though as I need to understand if that colour suits me.
It seems like Aero have been doing these on and off. There are a few used on Yahoo jp. There is currently a size 40 blanket lined shorthorn replica at a very good price.
Clutch has a good selection if you don’t want to deal with the language barrier. Guess you pay for that too though.
Some of their stuff is nice other I find it a bit too costumey. I own a belt from them that I bought at Clutch.
It is arguably vintage inspired, looks good, feels good... it’s jog-denim! I think I’ve been converted!
You vintage fanatics can laugh now but we will be the ones laughing while you’ll perish of follicles inflammation!
