I get that if one wants a totally original vintage in all its parts, also the zip needs to fit the bill. But at some point there was a suggestion to use a RiRi #8 or Talon #10 which aren’t period accurate either for ton’s jacket and it isn’t clear to me what is the advantage they offer over a...
But I think this is exactly the point.
Unless you are really bothered by those three letters only visible with a magnifying glass then YKK can look the same as any talon/conmar/you name it repro. Repro zips for repro jackets. The only really debatable point imho is the size of the zip.
If you need custom I’d have also a serious thought about Greg (field leathers). He’s got Shinki, stitching looks quite immaculate and he is open to customisations.
If money is no object, for a casual jacket I’d go with Himel for a custom order or some of the usual Japanese brands if you fit off the rack (Rainbow Country, Fine creek, real McCoy’s, freewheelers, etc).

I you look around (IG etc) you’ll see that white denim is all the rage this year. They are just jumping on the bandwagon of this fashion trend... nothing more nothing less.
I’d personally stay away from the white tux.
Never really owned a leather jacket until I was in mid twenties as they were simply not available where I used to shop nor were in fashion. I couldn’t afford them anyway.
This European market Schott cafe racer about 10years ago was my first. Not bad I think for what it costs.
Quite the line up dude. Those Attractions with a bit of wear ought to rise in the ranking.
I’m partial to Attractions as I think they’ve got the best shape out of all engineers, something about the proportions that can’t be topped imho.
Clinch on the other hand really have that artisanal...
@regius it’s another thread man. The other is still there in the other section. Not sure how this fits the outerwear section. Perhaps some moderator should consider consolidating the two.
