What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I like the dip at the hem near the zipper that forms a V shape. Seems to be a feature of some vintage jackets.

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

GREAT idea for a thread. Here's an absolute STEAL on a unlabeled Kehoe cafe racer. If I didn't already have one in the same color, I would've already purchased it. Hell, I'm tempted to buy it and flip it for a profit. Seriously, someone BUY THIS...

    Schott trucker jacket

It appears too tight at the waist. And if you can't button it, then it doesn't fit. I've been around these parts long enough now to know that if you have nagging fit questions from the start, then they will probably never be resolved.

    Vintage-style denim and suspenders

Thanks for all the links. Some of the RRL ones look great but damn are they expensive. The River Junction suspenders look to be of quality and are the most affordable but I'm not sure about the non-traditional shape of the leather ends. I'll check out Carhartt and Filson.

    Vintage-style denim and suspenders

Some of the suspenders from the links above might work. Striped ones aren't as appealing to me. Don't want to call too much attention to them. Also, something available in the USA would be preferable. Found this photo from the S.F. Chronicle of 1890s miners wearing Levi's. Even with suspenders...

    Vintage-style denim and suspenders

Not sure where to post this, but sometimes conversations about jeans pop up in the outerwear forum. I bought some vintage-styled selvedge raw denim jeans (model A1-28) from the sadly defunct Circle A Brand out of Asheville, NC. This model has a cinch back and buttons to accommodate suspenders...

    RARE 1950s RICH-SHER cross-zip, FQHH, size 40/42

Some fit pics. I wore a long-sleeve shirt underneath and feel there is still some room to spare at the chest.

    RARE 1950s RICH-SHER cross-zip, FQHH, size 40/42

Vintage 1950s Rich-Sher Perfecto-style jacket Here is a rarely-seen cross-zip jacket from the Rich-Sher brand. @tmitchell59 and others have noted that Rich Sher jackets were known for using the highest-quality FQHH for their era. This jacket is no exception. And because the zips are mostly...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I have to give you credit for giving me the idea for the mouton collar. As you can see, it turned out great!

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Superb is the word. I don’t believe the job could have turned out better. Love this jacket.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Not "new" to me but it feels new, because my vintage Lawrence cross-zip just returned from Johnson Leathers. JL created a replacement horsehide belt with leather that is a real close match to the horsehide in the jacket body. Added a new vintage-style belt buckle that I bought off eBay (the...

Recently picked up a vintage Navy bridgecoat.

Very cool coat that doubles as a historic artifact. I love the history associated with a garment like this. I imagine it will be tough to learn about A. Anderson since the name is so common. I don’t have the knowledge to answer most of your questions but the term is “throat latch” for the piece...

Some close up comparison of leathers

Nice photos. What kind of lens are you using and where did you purchase it?

1930s Front Quarter horse hide jacket Size 40 to 42"

Nice jacket. Can't see the cracking on the shoulder, can't see the interior lining, can't see the tag (is there one?), can't see the price.

Why do functional yet beautiful designs stop a long time ago

Don’t question the wisdom of time.
